The month
of March 2006 was not only March Madness for basketball fans everywhere
but it was also the time for Greek Sing 2006. While the NCAA tournament
2006 was heart pounding for many fans as thriller games and upsets
dominated the tournament, there was heart pounding at Greek Sing too!
The
fraternity of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and the sorority of Kappa Kappa Gamma
had their own heart pounding performance. They played the role of
surgeons and nurses in a hospital stage setting where heart attacks
occurred, patients were carried in stretchers, and the mentally ill had
to be controlled as they tried to escape.
The nurses
wore Red Cross costumes and the doctors wore white plaid shirts as they
sang in the hospital to let time fly by. It did fly by as all the
patients temporarily flat lined but got revived.
Their
performance captured the hearts of the judges and many who came to cheer
them on. As some of the NCAA Tournament teams won in thriller games in
the finals seconds, the performers from Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Kappa
Kappa Gamma did the same edging out a victory for 1st place
by a point.
