SCRIPTURE:
"For He has rescued
us out of the darkness and gloom of Satan's kingdom and brought us
into the Kingdom of His dear Son, who bought our freedom with His
blood and forgave all our sins...It was through what His Son did
that God cleared a path for everything to come to him --- all things
in heaven and on earth --for Christ's death on the cross has made
peace with God for all by His Blood." (Colossians 1:13-14, 18, TLB)
Observations:
I asked myself
what did God do for us by Christ's Blood?
1. God rescued us out of the darkness
and gloom of Satan's kingdom.
2. God brought us into the Kingdom of His dear Son.
3. God cleared a path for everything to come to Him ---- all things
in heaven and on earth.
Observations:
I asked myself what did Jesus Christ do for us by His Blood?
1. Jesus bought our freedom with His Blood.
2. Jesus forgave all our sins by His Blood.
3. Jesus made peace with God for all by His Blood because of His
death on the cross.
I am so touched that
Jesus became the Blood donor in my life so that I could live.
Observations from Hebrews:
I asked myself why Jesus alone could be the Blood donor for our
lives?
"But Jesus lives forever
and continues to be a Priest so that no one else is needed. He
is able to save completely all who come to God through him. Since he
will live forever, he will always be there to remind God that he has
paid for their sins with his blood.
He is, therefore, exactly the kind of
High Priest we need; for he is holy and blameless, unstained by sin,
undefiled by sinners, and to him has been given the place of honor
in heaven.
(Hebrews 7:24-26, TLB)
“Just think how much more surely the blood of
Christ will transform our lives and hearts. His sacrifice frees us
from the worry of having to obey the old rules and makes us want to
serve the living God. For by the help of the eternal Holy Spirit,
Christ willingly gave himself to God to die for our sins—he being
perfect, without a single sin or fault.”
(Hebrews 9:14, TLB)
For it
is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats really to take away
sins.
That
is why Christ said as he came into the world, “O God, the blood of
bulls and goats cannot satisfy you, so you have made ready this body
of mine for me to lay as a sacrifice upon your altar. You
were not satisfied with the animal sacrifices, slain and burnt
before you as offerings for sin. (Hebrews 10:4-5, TLB)
And
then he adds, “I will never again remember their sins and lawless
deeds.”
Now, when sins have once been forever forgiven and forgotten, there
is no need to offer more sacrifices to get rid of them.
And so, dear brothers, now we may walk right
into the very Holy of Holies, where God is, because of the blood of
Jesus. This
is the fresh, new, life-giving way that Christ has opened up for us
by tearing the curtain—his human body—to let us into the holy
presence of God.
And
since this great High Priest of ours rules over God’s household, let
us go right in to God himself, with true hearts fully trusting him
to receive us because we have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to
make us clean and because our bodies have been washed with pure
water.
Now we can look forward to the salvation God
has promised us. There is no longer any room for doubt, and we can
tell others that salvation is ours, for there is no question that he
will do what he says. (Hebrews 10:17-23, TLB)
And now may the God of peace, who brought
again from the dead our Lord Jesus, equip you with all you need for
doing his will. May he who became the great Shepherd of the sheep by
an everlasting agreement between God and you, signed with his blood, produce in you through the power
of Christ all that is pleasing to him. To him be glory forever and
ever. Amen. (Hebrews 13:20-21,
TLB)
Dear friends, God the Father chose you long
ago and knew you would become his children. And the Holy Spirit has
been at work in your hearts, cleansing you with the blood of
Jesus Christ and making you to please him. May God bless you richly
and grant you increasing freedom from all anxiety and fear.
(1 Peter 1:2, TLB)
Observations/Interpretations from John:
I asked myself how
the Blood was delivered to us?
I am reminded of John 3:14-17:
"Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the
desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who
believes in him may have eternal life.
"For God so loved
the world that he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever
believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did
not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save
the world through him." (John 3:14-17, NIV)
Jesus was lifted up on
the cross to deliver us His precious cleansing Blood.
I
asked myself why did Jesus mention
'Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man
must be lifted up, that everyone who believes in Him may have
Eternal life?'
Then
the people came to Moses and cried out, “We have sinned, for we have
spoken against Jehovah and against you. Pray to him to take away the
snakes.” So Moses prayed for the people.
Then the Lord told him, “Make a bronze
replicaof one of these snakes and
attach it to the top of a pole; anyone who is bitten shall live if
he simply looks at it!” So Moses made
the replica, and whenever anyone who had been bitten looked at the
bronze snake, he recovered!
(Numbers 21:7-9, TLB)
The people in the
wilderness were dying because of the venom of the snake polluted
their bodies as a result of their sins. The only way they could live
again was if God intervened in their lives and they would do what
God wanted them to do. In this case they were to look upon the
bronze snake at the top of the pole and all who looked at it
recovered from dying on the spot. In the same way, now for us to be
rescued from the bondage of sin and death, we all need to look at
the cross of Christ to be delivered from the poisonous venom of sin
that has pervaded our bodies. When we do that the reddest antidote
will be delivered to us which is the precious cleansing Blood of
Christ shed on the cross of Calvary which alone can wash away our
sins and make us right with God to enter His presence when we die.
Jesus Himself had to be put on the pole to deliver deliverance for
us. Thank you Jesus!
"They shall see my Servant beaten and
bloodied, so disfigured one would scarcely know it was a person
standing there. So shall He cleanse many nations." (Isaiah 52:15,
TLB)
"Yet, it was our grief He bore, our sorrows
that weighed Him down. And we thought His troubles were a punishment
from God, for His own sins. But He was wounded and bruised for our
sins. He was beaten that we might have peace; He was lashed---and we
were healed! We---every one of us---have strayed away like sheep!
We, who left God's paths to follow our own. Yet God laid on Him the
guilt and sins of every one of us!" (Isaiah 53:4-6, TLB)
"He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet
He never said a word. He was brought before as a lamb to the
slaughter; and a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so He stood
silent before the ones condemning Him." (Isaiah 53:7, TLB)
"Christ redeemed us from the curse
of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is
everyone who is hung on a tree."
He redeemed us in order
that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles
through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise
of the Spirit." (Galatians 3:13-14, NIV)
"From prison and trial they led Him away to
His death. But who among the people of that day realized it was
their sins that He was dying for---that He was suffering their
punishment. He was buried like a criminal, but in a rich man's
grave; but He has done no wrong, and had never spoken a evil word."
(Isaiah 53:8-9, TLB)
Can you even imagine the pain?
An injection
cannot compare anywhere close to what happened to Jesus on the cross and yet I am afraid of needles. It is painful for me to
prick my finger even when not an ounce of blood is taken. Yet, for
our sake a crown of thorns was put on Jesus' head with blood
dripping and nails were pounded in his hands and in his feet. The
anguish Jesus went through for us to be a Blood donor for us is love
unexplained. Thank you so much Jesus!
One Passover, my precious daughter Esther
injured the tip of her finger and blood kept coming. When I looked
at the blood my wife was wiping, my wife had tears in her eyes to
see the blood drip from our precious daughter 's finger. As I think
about that, how much pain Father God must have gone through to see
His only begotten Son being sacrificed for the sins of the world on
the cross. All the blood shed was shed for you and me.
Jesus could have died other ways but
for His mission John 3:14-17, He kept the cross in mind. It is
interesting that even before He went to the cross, in one of His
preaching sermons, He lets the people know,
"If you want to follow me, you must deny yourself, pick up your
cross and follow me. Those who want to save their life will lose it
but those who are willing to give it up, will save it."
Now Jesus picks up the cross and carries it
until He can carry it no more and Simon of Cyrene carries it the
rest of the way to Golgotha.
What is the significance of the cross?
All the other types of death would not
have fulfilled Jesus' Mission 3:14-17 for humanity but the CROSS had
unique reasons for fulfilling that mission. There was 3.5 litres of
Jesus' blood that was shed for our sake. It flowed to redeem us when
Jesus was crucified on Calvary for you and me. It is His blood that
cleanses humanity of their unrighteousness, when they turn to the
One who did know wrong, as Jesus paid the
ultimate price for our redemption. It was at the Cross!
When Adam and Eve sinned, they realized their nakedness and tried to
hide it. They tried to hide it with fig leaves but God foreshadowed
what would come one day, as God provided clothing for them after
killing possibly a lamb so they could be covered. A lamb or another
animal paid the price so they could be covered after their
sinfulness revealed their nakedness.
On the cross, Jesus became naked when He took upon Himself our sins
so we could be clothed in His righteousness. He became the
sacrificial Lamb so we could be clothed in His righteousness without
being naked in sin. No other death would have involved nakedness.
"Look, the Lamb of God who takes
away the sin of the world!" (John 1, TLB)
I believe there is a deeper reason for death
on the cross than those I thought about above. It is the
significance of Passover!
When the Israelites
were to escape the angel of death, they were to put blood on the
door post of their door. The blood had to be from a sacrificed
lamb. It is interesting that the blood used to cover the door was
placed in a horizontal and vertical way according to Scripture:
"Then they are to take some of the
blood and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the
houses where they eat the lambs." (Exodus 12:7)
If you take the horizontal post (top) with
blood on it and take the vertical post (sides) with
blood on it, and put them together, you get a bloody cross!
When the angel of death came during the night and saw blood on the
top and sides of the doorpost, judgment decided to Passover that
particular household because God saw the place covered in
blood so judgment of death decided to pass over the first born.
In the same way, Jesus' death on the cross gave us His precious Blood to all
who would put it upon the door of their heart. It is the precious
cleansing blood of the Lamb of God who sacrificed His life for
humanity. It is undefiled and the purest antidote for our virus sin.
Now, when we take His cleansing blood and ask Him to cover us, we
are covered by His precious cleansing blood.
Now when God looks at us in His Holiness, He does not see sin
anymore but the blood of Christ covering over us and cleansing us of
all sin. Now God's judgment will Passover us and we can be with Him
in Eternity. We have life because God, the Son chose to pay the
price for us. He became our sacrifice to redeem us and save us.
And so through the Cross, Jesus accomplished Mission
3:14-17 for humanity. It is actually John 3:14-17 put to a mission.
Honestly, it only takes one drop of blood to wash us whiter than
snow because that is how powerful Christ's blood shed on the cross
for you and me is!
All the drops of blood were to save the
entire human race that comes to Him!
"He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet
He never said a word. He was brought before as a lamb to the
slaughter; and a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so He stood
silent before the ones condemning Him." (Isaiah 53:7, TLB)
"But it was the Lord's good plan to bruise
Him and fill Him with grief. However when His soul has been made an
offering for sin, then He shall have a multitude of children, many
heirs. He shall live again and God's program shall prosper in His
hands. And when He sees all that is accomplished by the anguish of
His soul, He shall be satisfied; and because of what He has
experienced, my righteous Servant shall make many to be counted
righteous before God, for He shall bear all their sins. Therefore I
will give Him the honors of One who is mighty and great, because He
has poured out His soul unto death. He was counted as a sinner, and
He bore the sins of many, and He pled with God for sinners." (Isaiah
53:10-12, TLB)

called 'This Blood' and an awesome song by Ray Boltz called 'The
Hammer'
LIFE
APPLICATION:
I ask you now dear friend, what
can the Blood of Christ shed on the cross do for you?
Dear friend, you can either ignore the Blood of Christ or take the
Blood of Christ for your transfusion of change, so His Blood can
become the reddest antidote against the venomous poison of sin in
your life. It is the cross Jesus used to deliver this antidote to
you to cleanse you and make you clean for your Eternal redemption. I
say Eternal because once you belong to Him, you will always belong
to Him. It is only through the cleansing Blood of Christ can we made
righteousness in the sight of God. There is no other way.
Jesus said, 'I AM the Way, I AM
the Truth, I AM the Life. No one comes to the Father except through
me!" (John 14:6)
It is His Blood shed on the
cross of Calvary that Jesus used to fulfill His mission for you
and me. The cross is more than just a symbol or jewelry to wear on your
neck or a pin to put on. Jesus used the cross as an instrument to show His
sacrificial love for you and me. Each time you come across a cross, I hope you
get a flashback of the excruciating
pain
Jesus Christ went through
to rescue you and me
as each nail
was pounded into Him!
I hope you realize how much He unconditionally loves you no matter
who you are, where you have been, or what you have done.
You can know you
are never out of His love and never out of His reach! He loves you so much
that if you were the only one living, Jesus would have still died
for your sin! Yes, He would have!
It was done for one reason: Christ Rescues Our Scorching Soul!
When we make a cross using our hands, it is not just a gesture but
being reminded of the One who endured it and the One who now covers
us by His blood because He loves us. But that is only one aspect of
why Jesus shed His Blood on the cross of Calvary.
The other reason that came to my mind is a pathway. When we cross
the road, we are actually crossing a pathway to reach our
destination. Without a road or bridge or water we won't be able to
get to the other side because they all serve as a pathway unless
someone carries us. Jesus carries us to the Father.
In the same way, I see the Cross as the only pathway to reach God.
When we look to the Cross of Christ, we are looking to the pathway
that serves as a bridge to reach our Heavenly Father. All other
means and pathways will not let us get across except the cross of
Christ.
Friend, you and I cannot save ourselves
apart from the Cross of Jesus Christ. He went through all He went
through because He knew He alone could rescue our scorching souls.
Our souls will be scorched without the One who can heal them by His
blood. He wants to do that for you.
I don't know where you have been or what
you have done but this I know that no matter what you have done or
where you have been, you are never out of His love. He waits for you
to take all your sin and bury it. He wants to give you a new life.
Yes, He does friend. Now is the time of Salvation. Now is the time
to acknowledge your sin and repent of it turning to the One who can
cover you by His precious Blood. That is the power of the cross for
you and me. Come and take Jesus' rescue friend, for it is for you.
You and I can never reach God on our own
because we are filled with sin without Christ's redemption. Our
goodness is filthy rags to the Lord and so He sent Christ as our
ransom. The ransom has been paid. You do not have to live with a
scorching soul but a saved soul. Yes, you can! Come as you are and
receive your healing this Good Friday weekend.
When we make a withdrawal at the cross of
Christ, we are actually taking the precious cleansing Blood He has
for us to save our scorching souls. This is the best transaction of
withdrawal we will ever make in life because this transaction at the
cross will save us for Eternity giving us a personal relationship
with Jesus Christ who wants to be our Lord and Personal Savior
bringing us into His Kingdom. Jesus is the friend of sinners
bringing us to Him so come as you are.
If it ended at the cross alone without the Resurrection of Christ
then we would still have no hope to reach Heaven! But the Good News
is that Sunday is on the Way and the Resurrection of Christ can be
celebrated each year because Christ came back to life on the
third day to save! Christ the Lord is risen! Yes, Christ the Lord is
risen indeed! Hallelujah!
May you know how much you are loved by Jesus
no matter who you are, what you have done or where you have been! He
loves you so much that He paid the price for you and came back to
life to save you! Amen!
Now won't you accept what He did for you and
come into His presence and give your life to Him so He can cover the
virus of sin with His cleansing blood and making you clean?
If you want Jesus in your life, He will
give you a transfusion of
change! Yes, He will my friend! Pray the prayer below and mean it in
your heart knowing Christ Rescues Our Scorching Souls!
At Transformers small group with
Margaret, Johannnes, Stacey, Tolani, Mike,
Daniel, Chen Xi, Chloe, Sarah we learned about the power of
Christ's Blood in our lives as we studied Hebrews.
In Summary, the Blood of Christ
gives us Eternal Redemption, gives us a clear conscience from acts
that lead to death so we can serve the Living God, only way for the
forgiveness of our sins, heals us where we are, etc.
"Blessed Lord
Offers Our Deliverance!"/"What
can the Blood of Christ shed on the cross do for you?"
PRAYER: Dear Jesus, thank you so much for
loving me so much and thank you for choosing the cross to die for
me. You became the Son of Man and lived here on earth. Then you
humbled yourself and became obedient to death-even death on the
cross. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sin. You died on the
cross so that I can be covered in your blood and cleansed by your
blood of my sin as I acknowledge that I need you and cannot enter Heaven
without you being my pathway. So, Jesus I confess all my sins to you
and all the ways I have tried to get into Heaven when you already
provided the means and the Way. Thank you for all that you have done
for me for being my Life. "The cross is the place, a wonderful place where accused and
condemned find mercy and grace. Thank you Jesus, it is at the cross
where the wrongs we have done and the wrongs done to us were nailed
at the cross. Thank you Jesus, at the cross you died for our sins
and at the cross you gave your life for us." (At the cross
song) Please forgive me of all my sin and make me new. I
repent of my sin. Thank you for coming back to life to save us. Thank you Jesus
for being there for me! Thank you for loving me. I love you Jesus!
I need you Jesus. Help me Jesus. Please take me as I am and make my life into something that you will
be proud of. I surrender my life to you and need your help to live
for you. I am forever grateful for what you have done for me and I
can never repay you. I want to live for you and need your help. Help
me Jesus please. Please come into my heart and make my heart your
home so I can serve you faithfully. I thank you Jesus for saving me! Thank you for
hearing my prayer and answering me. Whatever your will give me the
willingness and strength to bear it with joy. I acknowledge
you as my Lord and Personal Savior! Thank you Jesus for
being my Lord and personal Savior. Thank you Jesus, you have heard
my prayer and answered me. Thank you I belong to you. In Your Name I Pray precious
Jesus! Amen!
You are my all in all. You are my Prince of Peace,
Rock, Savior, and Friend. You are my Holy Father guiding me through to live a
life of righteousness, holy righteousness. Oh God, I need you more than ever. I
need to feel your hands around me holding me tight. I need your love to surround
me so that you can glow in my life. Help me please Jesus. I desire in your
presence. Thank you for guiding me to live a life of righteousness. Oh God you
love me more than ever. You hear my voice when I cry out to you. When I seek
your face, you fill me up. You are my all in all. Thank you Jesus so much for
your help no matter what I face, your grace is available and you take my case.
Thank you for hearing us and answering us. In Your Name I Pray Jesus! AMEN!
(Most of the prayer is from a vineyard song called “All in All”
May the Lord Jesus guide you in
His love leading you! Amen!
No matter what you feel in your heart,
know that Jesus has come in and resides with you! You are not alone! To
make your walk strong with the Lord, spend time in prayer talking to Him
as you would to a friend. You don’t need special words to talk to the
Lord. Spend time in His Word reading Psalms and turning them into
prayer. Next allow God to heal you and speak to you through the Gospel
of John or Gospel of
Mark before moving on to other Books of the Bible! Slowly, let the Lord
show you to which Scriptures He wants you to go to next. It is also important to be part of a body of believers to
help you grow in the faith. Find a Bible believing church that preaches
the Word of God from Genesis to Revelation proclaiming Jesus Christ our
crucified and risen Lord who brings us hope, healing, and help by His
grace alone!
