1994 - An apparent arson fire destroyed
Randolph County High School in Wedowee, Alabama; the school had been the
focus of racial tensions touched off by the school's principal, who had
threatened to cancel the Senior Prom because he disapproved of
interracial dating. On June 1, 1995, a local man was arrested and
accused of setting the fire.
