SCRIPTURE:
Jesus tells us, "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to preach the good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor" (Luke 4:18-19, NIV)

How many are faced with a depression of darkness?
Dear friend, you may not be facing the depression of darkness in your lives but those around you could be that you may not even know unless you are there for them. I know there are so many broken hearts out there and that is why I went into psychology to counsel broken hearts with the love of Christ.

I have seen hearts that are so fragile that they bruise easily with just words. Sticks and stones will break my bones but words will not is a fallacy. Most hearts that are breaking and sending people into depression have to do with family problems and any relational problems that have to do with words. People also are broken because of career problems, academic problems, health problems, etc.

Everything that is mentioned above are problems we can see happening but let us not forget all those problems are a causation because of our own brokenness when it comes to our spiritual lives.

I have seen lives changed no matter how depressed a person has been or what they have faced when they have come face to face with the saving power and love of Jesus Christ. This is not to say Christians do not get depressed because depression can also be a result of neurological transmitters malfunctioning which the Lord can heal through medication too!

No matter what you are facing whether the hurt is intentional or unintentional, there will be bruising and sometimes shattering of the heart that you cannot pick up the pieces but I want you to know there is a Great Physician who can put back the shattered pieces of your heart. He understands all the pain you are suffering. All the loneliness you feel. When you feel hopeless, He knows that too. When you are afraid to love, He knows that too. He loves you so much. He wants to take care of you. Give you a new heart with love and joy. Jesus came to set the broken hearted and the captives free. Because of how your life has been, how many have hurt you, you may be afraid to receive love or give love. Jesus will never fail you.

My heart has been broken many times and Jesus restored it each time, and gave me a new heart with love and joy. I did not want others to face what I faced so I wanted to become a counselor with the mission 'Counseling Broken Hearts with the Love of Christ'.

I thank the Lord for the opportunity to use my suffering and pain in different areas of my life to be able to help others. Come to Jesus and give Him your shattered heart. He wants it. He will give you joy and peace, even through the suffering. I cannot explain it, you have to experience it.

The poem below was taken to a Giant Eagle and one of the young employees found it on the floor and read it. He knew me and told me, "Ramesh, I was planning to commit suicide but came across this paper with the poem you had written and read it completely! Now I do not want to commit suicide any more!Thank you so much"

I was so happy I had gone there at such as time and the poem and prayer had ministered to that particular person. Few months ago, I saw him and he was so happy working with Port Authority Transit as a bus driver. I want to share that poem below:

Downing Depression (Read Psalm 69)

You want to always do right?
But many times do what's not white? ( PURE )
Feeling you are on an uncontrollable diet?
Getting yourself a stinging bite?
Where is the answer, you search with your might!
You are now in a depressed mode?
Travelling on the wrong road?
Carrying your troublesome load?
Hurrying to find life's secret code?
Your life seems to be going down the drain?
Your problems are covered with stinky stain?
Cannot wash them away with the rushing rain?
Causing you pinching pain?
Problems exist with the ticking of time?
Your money's becoming small as a dime?
For you problems are becoming a sticky slime?
You feel blue?
What to do you have no clue?
JESUS IS THE ANSWER FOR YOU!!! (Isaiah 43:1-4)
For your problems too. (Matt 11:28-30)
Your therapy, can be His Word (Psalm 119:50)
Which everyone can afford! (James 1:21)
To overcome your problems, He gives His promise (Prov 3:5-6)
Which when you search God's Word, you cannot miss! (John 5:39)
For you, Jesus will find a way out! (John 10:9)
Surely there is no doubt! (Psalm 34:4)
His presence and love will take you on the best route!
Jesus will your depression heal! (Psalm 32:8 & Psalm 147:3)
And your problems seal! (John 14:1)
This you will soon feel! (2 Cor 4:8)
As you come to with your problems deal! (1 Peter 5:6-7)
AMEN!

PRAYER:
Lord Jesus thank you for knowing everything about me. I trust in you Lord with all my heart. I love you so much Lord. Thanks Lord for loving me beyond words. Lord Jesus, my Personal Savior and therapist, you can heal those who feel so depressed because of situations they are facing. I pray they will lean not on to their own understanding but turn to you. Thank you Jesus you will fix their problems in your timing and will be there for them to counsel them. You can change their lives around and strengthen them! I give my heart to you. I yield everything to you. IN YOUR NAME I PRAY THANKING YOU. Amen!

If you want to be a soldier in the Lord's army, you can become it right now. Now is the time of Salvation! You do not have to wait but can pray this prayer and give your life to Christ to serve Him daily! There is no draft but coming to Christ is voluntary. He loves you so much and wants you to come to Him! He will take care of you, guiding you and leading you!

Prayer:
God I am a sinner. I am invaded by this deadliest virus. Many times I feel so guilty and yucky inside. I need forgiveness. I am so sorry for my sins. I have not obeyed you with my whole heart! I have gone my own way and done my own things. I still struggle with sin. I need you Jesus in my life so I can receive forgiveness and a new beginning. In the process, I can forgive others as you help me to. Thank you so much Jesus. I accept the antidote you have sent me. I believe Jesus you died for me and your cleansing blood will cleanse me from all my sins. You came back to life to save me. Thank you God I am set free, free from the bondage of sin. Hear my cry Oh Lord. I accept you Jesus into my heart. I make you my Lord and Personal Savior of my life. Thank you Father God for giving me Salvation. Thank you Jesus for coming into my heart and making my heart your home. Thank you for living in me Jesus and I will live for you and serve you the rest of the days of my life. Thank you for being my Lord and personal Savior! I can live a life of peace with you on my side. Thank you that you have heard my prayer and answered me! In your Name I Pray Jesus! AMEN! Thank you Lord for answering my prayer. Amen!!!

Friend, if you have prayed this prayer and meant it in your heart, you are a new creation in Christ and all old things are passed away and everything has become new! You may feel something or may not but don’t base it on feelings but base your new life in Christ on the promises of our Savior who will never leave you nor forsake you! Amen!

Spend time in His word and let the Lord speak to you! Start out in the Gospel of John! You can also check out the Gospel of Mark which are the devotionals I have been going through. Learn from Jesus through study and prayer. Also find yourself a church fellowship and a college fellowship you can be part of where you can be part of a community of believers to supplement your own walk with the Lord. Let it be a Bible-believing and Bible-breathing church! Believe in Bible Live Eternally!
