Reddy's
2003 NFL rankings after week 15!
Ramesh C. Reddy
Publisher
Reddy’s NFL Crazy Rankings are based on a point system. Each team that won their
first NFL Game starts out with 10 pts for their win.
The following week, when a team plays their opponent and
wins against a winning or losing team, they get the teams winning percentage points
of the previous week plus 10 pts for the win. If a team keeps beating a winning team, their percentage
of points will be higher than if they beat a losing team.
If a team plays an opponent and loses, they do not get
any points for that week. Each week the points are tabulated and based on the
points, I pick the top 10 teams of the NFL for that week including where all the
other teams stand.
If there is a tie in the point system, the net
difference in their PF/PA is calculated and the team that has the highest net
difference of points breaks the tie unless their record is better than the other
teams with the same point system. If the tie continues, the team that won
most games away from home would get the tie breaker. If it continues, it is
based on their conference record, and then their division record.
They are called Reddy’s Crazy Rankings, because I am
ready to take an undefeated team out of the Top 10 if their wins came against
losing teams. Hopefully, these rankings will show who really are in the hunt to
be Super Bowl Contenders and who really are in the hunt to be Super Bowl
Pretenders in December and as January approaches.

Contender or Pretender Saturday:
Atlanta Falcons (3-11) @ Tampa Bay
Buccaneers (7-7), Sat, Dec 20 @ 1:30 p.m.
This is an important game for the Buccaneers to have any
slim hope of making the playoffs.
Kansas City Chiefs (12-2) @
Minnesota Vikings (8-6), Sat, Dec 20 @ 5:15 p.m.
This is a huge game for both teams. The Vikings are
trying to win the division over the Green Bay Packers to make the playoffs. The
one who misses the division maybe eliminated from the playoffs. The Chiefs are
hoping to secure home-field advantage throughout the playoffs and are hoping for
Patriot and Colt losses.
New England Patriots (12-2) @ New
York Jets (5-9), Sat, Dec 20 @ 8:30 p.m.
This is an important game for the Patriots to hold on to
home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. The Kansas City Chiefs (12-2) and
the Indianapolis Colts (11-3) hope to cash in on the Patriots loss.
Contender or Pretender Sunday:
Baltimore Ravens (8-6) @ Cleveland
Browns (4-10), Sun, Dec 21 @ 1:00 p.m.
This is an important game for the Ravens as they try to
win the central division over the Cincinnati Bengals (8-6) to make the playoffs.
Winning the division gives them a wild card game or else the hopes of making the
playoffs become slim.
New Orleans Saints (7-7) @
Jacksonville (4-10), Sun, Dec 21 @ 1:00 p.m.
This is an important game for the Saints as they hope to
keep their wild card hopes alive with a win and some help. They are coming
of a big win against the Giants beating them 45-7.
Tennessee Titans (10-4) @ Houston
Texans (5-9), Sun, Dec 21 @ 1:00 p.m.
This is an
important game for the Titans as they hope to catch up to the Colts for the
division lead with a Colts loss. The AFC is so good right now that a 10-6 record
may not be enough to make the playoffs so the Titans need to at least get 1 more
win for playoff hopes.
San Francisco 49ers (6-8) @
Philadelphia Eagles (11-3), Sun Dec 21 @ 1:00 p.m.
This is an important game for both teams. The 49er's may
have a slim hope of making the playoffs with 2 consecutive victories and some
help. The Eagles are streaking hot and aiming to secure home field
advantage in the NFC over the St. Louis Rams. A win will put them a little
closer to secure home-field advantage.
Cincinnati Bengals (8-6) @ St.
Louis Rams (11-3), Sun Dec 21 @ 1:00 p.m.
This is an important game for both teams. The
Bengals are hoping to win the division after having losing seasons for years. A
win and a loss by Baltimore Ravens puts them closer to winning the division and
making the playoffs as a wild card team. On the other side, the St. Louis Rams
are on a hunt to secure home-field advantage and go to the SuperBowl after a
dismal season last year. A win and a loss by the Eagles will put them closer to
that home field advantage.
Miami Dolphins (8-6) @ Buffalo
Bills (6-8), Sun Dec 21 @ 1:00 p.m.
This is an important game for both teams. The Dolphins with a win and some help
have a slim chance of making the playoffs while the Bills with a win and a lot
of help could also have a slim chance of making the playoffs.
N.Y Giants (4-10) @ Dallas Cowboys
(9-5), Sun Dec 21 @ 1:00 p.m.
This is an important game for the Cowboys who are trying to make the wild card
with Bill Parcells as their first year coach. A win could improve their hopes of
making the playoffs without outside help.
Arizona Cardinals (3-11) @ Seattle
Seahawks (8-6), Sun Dec 21 @ 4:15 p.m.
This is an important game for the Seahawks who were
looking to win the division over the St. Louis Rams but fell behind after a
devastating loss to the come from behind Ravens in OT. A win in the next 2 games
and a loss by either the Packers or the Vikings improves their hopes of
making the wild card into the playoffs.
Denver Broncos (9-5) @
Indianapolis Colts (11-3), Sun Dec 21 @ 8:30 p.m.
This is a huge game were both teams. The Broncos can
make the playoffs with a win and losses by the Dolphins, Bengals, or Ravens. The
Colts can clinch the division with a win and be in the hunt to secure home-field
advantage with a win and losses by the Patriots and the Chiefs.
Green Bay Packers (8-6) @ Oakland
Raiders (4-10), Mon Dec 22 @ 9:00 p.m.
This is a huge game for the Green Bay Packers. With a win against the 2002 AFC
Champions and a loss by the Vikings, the Packers will be in sole possession of
first place and have high hopes of making the wild card. All they would need
would be another win next week or another loss by the Vikings.
