What do you want for Christmas?  Does that statement ring a bell? I do not know about you but I have heard that statement a zillion times. You would think it is a zillion people’s birthday on Christmas. How ironic that we ask each other what we want for Christmas and make it so commercialized. Around, Christmas time children usually think about Santa Claus. The irony here is that it’s not our birthday we are celebrating. If we were fortunate, we got gifts for our birthday.

Christmas is to celebrate about an Awesome, Beautiful, Counseling. Delivering, Everlasting, Faithful, Great, Healing, Inspiring, Just, Kind, Loving, Mighty, Nice, Omnipotent, Peaceful, Quickening, Redeeming, Sanctifying, Truth-telling, Understanding, Victorious, Wonderful, Xciting, Yeshua, Zion’s Savior’s birth in a humble stable. His name shall be called Emmanuel: God with us. His name shall be Jesus.

The miracle of Christmas is about a tiny baby who came into the world, so one day He could save each one of us forever from the bondage of sin and death. Though, He was a King yet He was born with humble beginnings in a stable. From the beginning Christ became a servant. I love Christmas and am so excited because Jesus was born in Bethlehem. I want to give myself as a present to Jesus to make Jesus so happy and in honor of Jesus to give presents to others’ as I am able to. The presents are given to celebrate the Savior’s birth and not to commercialize Christmas. Presents cannot be based upon whether we have been good or not because none of us can be good. All have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God. Yet, while we were still sinners, God loved us so much that He sent His only begotten Son born to a Virgin Mary to deliver us and set us free. That’s so awesome. There is more to the Christmas story than meets the eye.

As you all think about gifts for Christmas day think about the gift you can give to Jesus to make Jesus so happy on the day we celebrate His birthday. I want to get up and wish Jesus a Happy Birthday before I greet anyone else with Merry Christmas. The gift Jesus gives you on His birthday or any day can be the best gift you will ever receive in your entire existence. His gift goes on and His love knows no bound.
