Ramesh C. Reddy Managing Editor Hi Summer Timers :) May the Lord of all seasons lead you in the path of Everlasting Life. Jesus is the reason for the season. Quiet Times (John 7) What I learned in my Quiet Times: I learned that Jesus' own brothers did not believe in him. They wanted him to prove himself by more miracles and go to certain events in the open. Jesus tells them that they can go freely to any events because the world does not hate them but hates him. Jesus gives 2 reasons for the world's hatred towards him: 1. Jesus accuses it of sin. 2. Jesus accuses it of evil. We need to remember that being a follower of Christ will not be easy. Whoever tells you if you become a Christian everything will be okay is not giving you the whole Truth. Things will not always be ok but we will have the Lord Jesus on our side to get us through life. He will give us Eternal Life. Coming back to the 2 points: We should never back away from telling someone they are doing wrong because we feel that we may be hated. Let us learn from the Master's example. We are called to be Ambassadors for Christ. One of the responsibility of an Ambassador is to speak on behalf of the one he/she represents. We represent Jesus if we are His followers. May you never allow persecution or hatred from others prevent you from speaking in love to others concerning their sin or evil. Allow the Lord Jesus to guide you. It is also interesting to note that even though Jesus did not go in the beginning, He eventually went and taught at the temple. This is very significant because Jesus did not allow persecution to hinder Him from fulfilling His responsibility He knew He had. What are you called to do? What do you know that you should be doing? Don't allow fear, intimidation, or persecution hinder you from fulfilling God's call in your life and being a faithful Ambassador. The Lord Jesus will take care of the rest. It is also interesting to note that though his brothers did not believe him, later we know at least one of his brothers believed. His name is James. He wrote the Book of James. By reading James, you can know how much he learned from Jesus! This is not the same James as the Apostle. Do you have someone who is an unbelieving person? Does that person make fun of your beliefs? Do not give up! Be faithful, available, and teachable and our Lord will lead you. Your duty is to present the Gospel by being a sower and allowing the Lord to bring forth the fruit. Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for teaching me so much about you. Thank you for loving me and dying for my sins. Thank you Lord for coming back to life to save me. Help us Oh Lord to do your will for the glory of your Name. Thank you Lord Jesus. Thank you for hearing us and answering us! In Your Name We Pray Jesus! Amen! Love in Christ, Ramesh |
