“Hillel Has Carefully Chosen Campus Super Star Finalists Faithfully! ” Wednesday, Feb 18, 2009Editor's Note: The University of Pittsburgh finalists will be streamed first in the order of which they were called.On the evening of Sunday, Feb 15, when churches across the Pittsburgh region were about to conclude their evening services, Hillel Jewish University Center sponsored Campus SuperStar Semi-finals at 7:30 p.m. in the William Pitt Union's Assembly Room. The room was packed with family and friends who came to cheer on and support twenty five semi-finalists who were aiming to become the 10 Campus SuperStar finalists for the ultimate showdown on April 5, 2009 at the Carnegie Music Hall.
The semi-finalists came from all walks of life and ethnicity representing the Carnegie Mellon University, Point Park College, and the University of Pittsburgh. Roberta Burke, Amanda Jane Cooper, Corey Cott, Trevor Eaton, Sarah Harissi, Natalie Keil, Lilli Passero, Sergi Robles, Lindsay Spangenthal, and Marrick Smith were the semi-finalists from Carnegie Mellon University. Jake Dannels, Shonica Gooden, Monte Howell, Emily McVicker, John Wascavage, and Ben Wetzel were the semi-finalists from Point Park College. Amanda Cohen, Danielle Demarco, Eric Markley, Leigh Anne Miguelez, Doug Moritz, Imanta Nigals, Catherine Reich, and Allie Routch were the semi-finalists from the University of Pittsburgh. Carly Adelmann, the MC for the night called out the 10 finalists for the Campus Superstar ultimate showdown. Carnegie Mellon University had most 50% of their semi-finalists make it into the finals: Roberta Burke, Amanda Jane Cooper, Corey Cott, Trevor Eaton, and Lilli Passero. Monte Howell and Emily McVicker represented Point Park College.
Leigh Anne Miguelez, Catherine Reich, and Allie Routch represented the University of Pittsburgh.
When Routch's name was called their was a celebration among her fan base compared to any other being called.
The cost to attend the finals will be $75.00 for non-students and $1.00 for students with all the money benefiting the poor and less fortuante. Coming soon:
