Bloodwork is a gripping thriller that starts of
with a serial killer taunting FBI agent McCaleb played by Clint
Eastwood. He sends the agent messages he cannot figure out. Eventually
he catches up to him until he gets a heart attack and collapses. We are
shown a shot taken at the serial killer. Now, the movie fast forwards to
two years later and will keep you guessing who is behind the murder of
the women whose heart was given to MacCaleb, now a retired FBI agent. He
is approached by someone who asks him to investigate her murder. McCaleb
refuses but eventually decides to help and is aided by his next door
neighbor even as the agent deals with his past.
It is a touching story of losing life but giving
another person life. It has biblical themes of selflessness and enduring
through hardship.
Questions to ponder:
Who deserves to get a
transplant first? Is it those on the transplant waiting list or should
it go to someone who can benefit society. Why or why not?
