“Remembering
Each Apply Cheerful Thanksgiving!(R.E.A.C.T)”

SCRIPTURE:
"I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of
you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel
from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began
a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of
Christ Jesus" (Philippians 1:3-6, NIV)
Approach Question:
"What do you do when you remember
others in life?"Observations:
I asked myself what does Paul let the
Philippians know?
1.
I thank my God every time I remember
you.
2.
In all my prayers for all of you, I
always pray with joy.
Interpretations:
I asked myself the significance of how Paul
started out the body of his letter?
Paul is letting the Philippians know of his unchanging personal
relationship with God when he opens the body of the letter with
'My God'. Not only
does Paul have a personal relationship with God but has an attitude of
thanksgiving as he remembers the Philippians including the overseers and
deacons every time, as he thanks God
for them.
Implications:
I asked myself what are the implications for
my own life?
I need to live my
life in such a way that when others are reminded of me, their heart
turns towards thanksgiving to God because of my actions even if they are
suffering. Though Paul was suffering in jail, the Philippians gave him
joy when he was reminded of them because of their actions.
I ask you now dear
friend, how will others R.E.A.C.T towards God when they remember you?
Dear friend, when Paul remembered the Philippians, his heart reacted by
giving thanks to God because of them.
Just as I am thankful to the Lord Jesus for those who have made
such an impact in my life, I want to
live my life in such a way that others will thank the Lord when they
remember me. Then, I will know I am living my life to bring honor and
glory to my Lord and Personal Savior Jesus Christ! When we remember
those who are supporting us financially and prayerfully as we
fundraise so we can do fulltime ministry through the paper, our
hearts go out in praise to the Lord for all those who have seen our
need and have been supporting us. Everytime, we think about them our
hearts go out in praise to the Lord for what they have done for our
family in this challenging time of 2020 after losing a job of 22
years while we do fundraising to do fulltime ministry. We are also
touched by those who have pledged to partner with us in this
ministry to support us financially and prayerfully in the future.
Everyday is a challenge as we fundraise but we are depending on the
Lord :)
We are so blessed and thankful to the Lord to
have
Pastor Josh,
Pastor Mike,
Pastor Bucknell,
Pastor Terrence,
Pastor Ridge,
and
Pastor Lake
gather every Tuesday to pray for congregation members including us
as we embark in this ministry path.
What about you friend?
Can others be thankful
to the Lord for you when they remember you?
I hope so! Live your life in such a way that when those around you
remember you they will not cringe but praise the Lord for you.
My darling wife
Chandraleela has been dealing with foot pain since November
2018 including leg pain. Everytime, I massage or press her foot and
legs, the first words out of her mouth are: 'Thank you Jesus, Thank
you Lord. Thank you Jesus. Thank you Lord'. My love actions in her
life made her praise Jesus. In the same way, the love actions of
those in our lives make us praise the Lord for them :)
I was really touched by what Pulitzer Prize winning journalist
Pastor Lake shared with me last
Thursday. Lake told me that he lived his life in such a way as a
follower of Christ, that when he was leaving the Pittsburgh
Post-Gazzette that people cried that he was leaving and so did he.
You don't cry when others leave unless they have impacted your life
and you have impacted theirs. We should live our lives in such a way
that others will miss us when we leave instead of saying to
themselves, 'Good riddance'. We want them to praise the Lord for the
way we have lived our lives focusing on Jesus.
More than anyone else, every time I remember
what Jesus
did for me and continues to do for me, I cannot be silent. He has made
such an impact in my life and continues to do so. I am not where I need
to be in my walk with the Lord but He never abandons me but always is
close to me bringing me back in His love. As we think about who we are
thankful to the Lord, when we are reminded of them, we cannot forget the
Lord Jesus Christ in our lives.
I pray you too are thankful to the Lord when you remember others.
Jesus Christ is someone we all can be thankful
for no matter who we are or where we have been. He loves you and me so
much and as we reflect on our lives, we can be thankful for so much that
Jesus has done for us and continues to do so. He is the Only One that
could redeem me from the virus that plagued my life. In His love for me,
Jesus provided the antidote that was the most pure, reddest antidote
given for me. The transaction was made at the Cross when my life was in
debt to sin. Jesus became my debit taking away the credit of my sin
by His precious cleansing Blood shed on the cross for me. In 3 days, the
transaction was cleared as Jesus came back to life to save. Now because
of my belief in Jesus, His righteousness is credited to me. I am so
thankful for the cross, the wonderful cross where condemned, broken, and
accused can come and find hope, help, and healing. This same Jesus who
works in my life in my weaknesses is the same Jesus that can work in
your life. Come as you are to the throne of
grace and find help in time of need. For we
are all needy. Even when we thank the Lord for others, it is because of
the Lord's work in their lives. Praise the Lord! May we never
forget to thank the Lord daily for His loving grace in our lives! Thank
you Lord!

Prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus, it is amazing to see the work you have done in Paul's
life. Oh Lord, even when Paul was in jail, he is filled with joy and
remembers to thank you for those you placed in his life who have been
such a blessing even though he is in jail shackled in chains.
Thanks so much Lord for that work you have done in Paul. Thank you for
those you placed in Paul's life that his heart turns towards
thanksgiving to you, when he remembers them. Thank you for those you
have placed in our own lives that we can be so thankful to you for them
because all goodness comes from you Oh Lord. We pray that we can live
our lives in such a way that when others are reminded of us, their
reaction would be a reaction of thanksgiving as Paul did. I want to live
my life to bring you honor and glory. Please help me Jesus. Jesus, this
is only possible because of what you have done in my life saving me from
the sin that captivates and giving me new life. Thank you so much Jesus
for dying on the cross for me and coming back to life to save as you
shed your precious blood for me. You are
God eternal and help me always to live a life where I am thankful to you
for I always wants to thank you for you tell us to give thanks in all
circumstances for this is your will in Christ Jesus. Thank you for
wanting to be my Lord and personal Savior who is working in my life and
will continue to. Thank you so much Jesus. In Your Name I Pray Jesus!
Amen!
Lord Jesus, You are
my all in all. You are my Prince of Peace, Rock, Savior, and Friend. You
are my Holy Father guiding me through to live a life of righteousness,
holy righteousness. Oh God, I need you more than ever. I need to feel
your hands around me holding me tight. I need your love to surround me
so that you can glow in my life. Help me please Jesus. I desire in your
presence. Thank you for guiding me to live a life of righteousness. Oh
God you love me more than ever. You hear my voice when I cry out to you.
When I seek your face, you fill me up. You are my all in all. Thank you
Jesus so much for your help no matter what I face, your grace is
available and you take my case. Thank you for hearing us and answering
us. In Your Name I Pray Jesus! AMEN! (Most of the prayer is from a
vineyard song called “All in All”)
If you would like to
invite Jesus Christ into your heart and make Him a daily part of your
life, you can this very moment. You will never be alone. You can claim
God's promises for you in the Bible and see them come true, before your
eyes, in His wonderful timing. You don't have to wait for a special time
to come to the Lord. You can come right now as you pray the prayer
below, meaning it in your heart.
Prayer:
God I am a sinner. I am invaded by this deadliest virus. Many times I
feel so guilty and yucky inside. I need forgiveness. I am so sorry for
my sins. I have not obeyed you with my whole heart! I have gone my own
way and done my own things. I struggle with sin. I need you Jesus
in my life so I can receive forgiveness and a new beginning. In the
process, I can forgive others as you help me to. Thank you so much
Jesus. I accept the antidote you have sent me. I believe Jesus you died
for me and your cleansing blood will cleanse me from all my sins. You
came back to life to save me. Thank you God I am set free, free from the
bondage of sin. Hear my cry Oh Lord. I accept you Jesus into my heart. I
make you my Lord and Personal Savior of my life. Thank you Father God
for giving me Salvation. Thank you Jesus for coming into my heart and
making my heart your home. Thank you for living in me Jesus and I will
live for you and serve you the rest of the days of my life. Thank you
for being my Lord and personal Savior! I can live a life of peace with
you on my side. Thank you that you have heard my prayer and answered me!
In your Name I Pray Jesus! AMEN!
No matter what you feel in your heart, know that Jesus has come
in and resides with you! You are not alone! To make your walk strong
with the Lord, spend time in prayer talking to Him as you would to a
friend. You don’t need special words to talk to the Lord. Spend time in
His Word reading Psalms and turning them into prayer. Next allow God to
heal you and speak to you through the Gospel of John or Gospel of Mark
before moving on to other Books of the Bible! Slowly, let the Lord show
you to which Scriptures He wants you to go to next. It is also important
to be part of a body of believers to help you grow in the faith. Find a
Bible believing church that preaches the Word of God from Genesis to
Revelation proclaiming Jesus Christ our crucified and risen Lord who
brings us hope, healing, and help!
No matter who you are, it is not ever too
late to join a Bible-believing church or a college fellowship. I highly
encourage each of you to come to Small Group on Friday nights at 7:30 p.m. and Oakland International Fellowship on Sunday
mornings at 9:00 a.m. for prayer, 10:00 a.m. for Community Bible Time in
Gospel of John, worship at 11:30 a.m, and fellowship lunch at 12:30 pm.
May the Lord's presence and peace fill you
with His love now and forever! Amen!
Friend, if you have prayed this prayer and meant it in your heart, you
are a new creation in Christ and all old things are passed away and
everything has become new! You may feel something or may not but don’t
base it on feelings but base your new life in Christ on the promises of
our Savior who will never leave you nor forsake you! Amen!
