Students should know death came because of premarital sex!A groom and bride in Tehran made a suicide pact to kill each other two days after they got married over their guilt of having premarital sex before getting married. It is the act of wanting to commit suicide over having sexual relations before marriage is intriguing. It shows how seriously sexual relations are taken in Islamic countries. Both of them made a mistake and even after being married for two days they wanted to kill themselves because they could not face their own guilty conscience. In Islamic countries, if it is found out sexual relations before marriage happened, they could get the death penalty. That is how much the sanctity of marriage is emphasized. The groom helped his bride commit suicide by hanging herself but backed out on his side of the pact and is being held by police. What they did before marriage was definitely wrong but what the groom did to his wife was even more wrong. This incident emphasizes how seriously sexual relations outside of marriage are taken to the point that a groom and bride made a pact to commit suicide. I am not endorsing what they decided to do. Instead, it would help students to realize by this incident that it was seen as taboo to have relations before marriage in those countries. This is not anything new, for Judea-Christian principles also prohibit sexual relations before marriage. The sad thing is that many do not even care to abide by those principles and live hedonistically. Whether it is the Koran, Torah, or the Bible, they speak out against sexual relations outside of marriage because sex is meant for a man-woman in marriage. There is a reason for that and because mankind has disobeyed, we have sexually transmitted diseases (STD) spreading like wildfire. People who think they protect themselves during sex should know that condoms are not full proof and only abstinence is. STD’s are not the only problem but for females pregnancy out of wedlock has gotten out of hand and the choice of abortion has been the result for most of them. Finally, those who have had premarital sex before marriage are highly likely to divorce one another after marriage than those who have not. Now there are those in society who want to go a step further and mess up the sanctity of marriage by promoting gay-marriages. It has not been enough for some in society to play around with sex before marriage but now some in society want two men and two women to get married. It is sad that many have not guilt over their actions when it comes to their sexual relations. They should feel guilty but the kind of guilt that leads to repentance and not the desire to kill self. As students, you all are more likely to be engaged in sexual relations after you are enveloped in wild parties, one night stands, or what you think is love when it is only lust. True love can wait till marriage. Just know that each one of you has a special person out there just for you waiting to marry you and when you have premarital sex, you not only hurt yourself but the other person in the long run. Abstinence until marriage is the way to go. If you have messed up, the Good News is that there is forgiveness available in Jesus Christ. Ask Him to give you a new beginning and a new start and He will take care of the rest! Express your view
