SCRIPTURE:^“Since they had nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples to him and said, "I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. If I send them home hungry, they will collapse on the way, because some of them have come a long distance." (Mark 8:1b-3, NIV)

Observations:
What statements does Jesus make to the disciples?

1. I have compassion for these people.

2. They have already been with me three days.

3. They have nothing to eat.

4. If I send them home hungry, they will collapse on the way.

5. They have come a long distance.

I decided to look at statement 4 today:

Interpretations:
Why do you think Jesus told the disciples 'if I send them home hungry, they will collapse on the way?'
Jesus knew exactly what was going to happen to the people if they were sent home hungry after the 3 day retreat without feeding them. Because of their hunger, the result would be their collapse on the way. Jesus did not want that to happen.

Implications:
I saw important implications for my own life. Jesus knows about my condition too. Jesus knows when I will collapse if I go hungry even before I know it. I believe as much as Jesus cared for the people there, Jesus cares for me too. I know Jesus would not want me to collapse because of hunger.

It made me also think about the different correlation between hunger and collapsing spiritually.

When it comes to spiritually, the more hungry I am for God's Word meaning being devoted to God's Word and teachings, the more active and vibrant I will be without collapsing.

But if I am not hungry for God's Word and desire to digest it daily so it can nourish me inside making the fruit of God's Word visible on the outside, then the side effect of not being hungry would be the collapse of my own walk with the Lord.

Without being hungry for God's Word moving me to action, I put myself in a place where my faith can be in danger of collapsing too because it is malnourished. The nourishment for me comes from God's Word and its teachings.

I don't know why but ever since I was young to this day when it comes to political candidates, majority of the Evangelical Christians focus on a litmus test when it comes to voting for leaders and that litmus test that is most important to them and to me is 'whether or not a candidate has a Pro-Life voting record' and 'whether or not a candidate is for the sanctity of marriage'.

All the other issues though they maybe important do not compare to the importance of the above hot button issues for me. The more I am in God's Word and desires to apply it in my life, hungering for it, the more I desire to influence others to think about voting only for Pro-Life and Pro-marriage candidates for government.

I do hope you would join me in voting for any candidate with a Pro-Life and Pro-marriage (marriage between man & a woman) record. Hungering for God's Word and desiring to apply it in my life makes me want to do that.

As I study God's Word these are not the only two issues that are out there but these are issues that I strongly feel and know that God has confirmed to me are important through different signs, etc which are tested through Scripture.

I ask you now dear friend what are you hungry for in life?
Dear friend, we can be hungry for a lot of things in life such as being hungry for power, hungry for fame, hungry for recognition, etc but all this hunger will eventually lead to our collapse without having Jesus Christ at the center. There is nothing wrong to have hunger for power, hunger for recognition, hunger for fame, etc if it is done with the motive of using that opportunity to reach souls for Christ. It is not self-centered hunger but God-centered hunger.

This type of hunger is crucial during election times too. When I vote for a candidate I do not vote for a candidate who will best serve me or society but who will serve God the best and things that matter to God.

In all my years, I have always felt that the issues of abortion and homosexuality matter greatly to God. As long as these issues are tackled and addressed then all the other issues will fall into place.

I cannot see myself voting for a candidate who is for the poor, for immigrants, for health care, etc but is also for abortion and homosexuality. As a follower of Christ hungering for God's Word, I would like the poor taken care of, immigrants taken care of, and health care for all but not at the expense of shedding blood of the unborn and degrading the sanctity of marriage if certain candidates are elected.

I have a hard time hungering for God's Word and then excusing away abortion and homosexuality just so I can have a candidate who can give universal healthcare, bring troops home, etc.

Even moral issues have a degree of how moral or immoral they are and for be the issues of abortion and homosexuality are at the top tier. When I think about Evangelical Christians, there is a positive vibe about it but slowly I am afraid that vibe will disappear if our hunger for God's Word and the things of God is compromised.

I do not want to do that! It would be better for a follower of Christ and His Word to stay at home on election night like James Dobson may do then voting for someone we are against.

I cannot say that I am Pro-Life and Pro-Marriage and vote for a candidate that it Pro-Choice and Pro-Homosexuality. That will effect my own reputation about not being honest to my beliefs.

What am I going to tell Jesus to explain away why I voted for a Pro-Choice and Pro-Homosexuality candidate?

I pray you will join me in being so hungry for God's Word that you do not overlook candidates views on homosexuality and abortion but vote for the candidate that is Pro-Life of the unborn and Pro-marriage.

May you be so hungry for God's Word and what His Word teaches that these two issues will be on the top tier when you go to vote.

More than voting for candidates that are human beings you and I should be hungry for the Gospel of Jesus Christ which will help us and others vote for Jesus into our hearts. For then alone will we not collapse from the weight of the bondage of sin. When Jesus is voted into our hearts, He will guide us and lead us. When we love Jesus so much, we will bring Jesus into the equation in our lives asking Him to take the sin that captivates us and fill us with His presence. When we do that we will have His precious cleansing blood as our antidote to wash us clean. Yes, He will. Without Jesus you and I will eventually collapse in our sin so let us come to Jesus as we are and ask Him to work in our lives.

"Hunger Under Nurturing God's Redemption Yourself!" (H.U.N.G.R.Y)/"What are you H.U.N.G.R.Y for?"

PRAYER:
Dear Lord Jesus, thank you so much for caring for the crowds there with you for a 3-day retreat. You were so involved with their lives and knew what their hunger would do to them. You did not want them to collapse and you do not want us to collapse to physically or spiritually. Oh Lord help us to be so hungry for your Word that issues such as voting for Pro-Life candidates, voting for Pro-Marriage candidates will mean a lot to us because we are your followers. Oh Lord help us to be different from those that do not know you as their Lord and Personal Savior. Help us not to commit the same mistakes as your follower Jesus. We need your Word in our lives to make us hungry for the things that matter to you when it comes to the poor, immigration, healthcare, etc. Give us wisdom to always be hungry for the Gospel so we can be nourished by the Gospel and be in a position to nourish others too. Thank you so much Jesus. We entrust our lives to you and to the usage of your plan. Thank you for your help Jesus! In Your Name I Pray Jesus! Amen!!

If you want Christ in your life, make this your prayer. Don’t let the enemy deceive you into thinking you need all the answers before coming to Christ. Let me just assure you though you may not have all the answers right now before coming to Jesus, He will answer them slowly. Yes, He will for I know our Redeemer will! Amen!

Prayer:
Jesus, I thank you for being the Bread of Life. You are the Living Bread of my life. Thank you for coming from Heaven and giving your life for the life of the world. You sacrificed yourself for humanity. Thank you Lord when we eat of you symbolically making you part of our life, digesting what you teach us by following you, we can be living Eternally, and the fruit that comes will reflect and resemble your life. I want that Father God. I want that Lord Jesus! I want that Holy Spirit! I know of a lot of people who partake of Holy Communion where the bread represents your body broken for their sin and the juice represents your blood shed for their sin. When we partake of Holy Communion, we are reminded that we are remembering you. I want to remember you always Lord Jesus. But for me to remember you always, I need to know you and acknowledge everything you said you are. So right now I acknowledge that you are my Lord and Personal Savior who died and rose again to give me life from sin. So right now, I come to you and say how sorry I am for my sin and living a life on my own. I repent of my sin and ask you to forgive me of my sin with your cleansing blood which I accept. Wash me and I will be clean from this infection of sin. Come Lord Jesus and please become part of my life as you live in me and I will live for you. I thank you Jesus for coming into my heart and making my heart your home. Thank you for living in me Jesus and I will live for you and serve you the rest of the days of my life. I do need your Spirit to reside in me and work in me and through me so I surrender all that I am and will be to you. Whatever your will is for me, please give me the strength and willingness to bear it and rejoice in you. Thank you so much Jesus. I thank you Jesus for becoming my Lord and Personal Savior. I thank you Jesus you have heard my prayer and have answered me. I thank you that I am your child Oh God. I thank you for becoming my only Way to Eternal Life. In Your Name I Pray Jesus! Amen!

Friend, if you have prayed this prayer and meant it in your heart, you are a new creation in Christ and all old things are passed away and everything has become new! You may feel something or may not but don’t base it on feelings but base your new life in Christ on the promises of our Savior who will never leave you nor forsake you! Amen!

Spend time in His word and let the Lord speak to you! Start out in the Gospel of John! You can also check out the Gospel of Mark which are the devotionals I have been going through. Learn from Jesus through study and prayer. Also find yourself a church fellowship and a college fellowship you can be part of where you can be part of a community of believers to supplement your own walk with the Lord.
