“Violence Is Ominous Leveling Everyday Now
Causalities Everwhere! (V.I.O.L.E.N.C.E)”

SCRIPTURE:
"If young toughs tell you, "Come and
join us"---turn your back on them! "We'll hide and rob and kill,"
they say. "Good or bad, we'll treat them all alike. And the loot
we'll get! All kinds of stuff! Come on, throw in your lot with us;
we'll split with you in equal shares." Don't do it, son! Stay far
from men like that, for crime is their way of life, and murder is
their speciality. When a bird sees a trap being set, it stays away,
but not these men; they trap themselves! They lay a booby trap for
their own lives. Such is the fate of all who live by violence and
murder. They will die a violent death....For you closed your eyes to
the facts and did not choose to reverence and trust the Lord, and
you turned your back on me, spurning my advice. That is why you must
eat the bitter fruit of having your own way and experience the full
terrors of the pathway you have chosen. For you turned away from
me--to death; your complacency will kill you. Fools! But all
who listen to me shall live in peace and safety unafraid....You will
be given the sense to stay away from evil men who want you to be
their partners in crime--men who turn from God's ways to walk down
dark and evil paths and exult in doing wrong, for they thoroughly
enjoy their sins. Everything they do is crooked and wrong. (Proverbs
1:10-19, 29-33, 2:11-15, TLB)
Observations:
I asked myself, what does the Bible say about
anarchists? 1.
Young toughs will tell others, "Come and join us."
2. Young toughs will tell others, "We'll hide
and rob [loot] and kill.
3. Young toughs will
tell others, "Good or bad, we'll treat them all alike."
4. Young toughs will tell others, "And the
loot we'll get! All kinds of stuff!"
5. Young toughs will tell others, "Come on,
throw in your lot with us"
6. Young toughs will tell others, "We'll
split with you in equal shares."
7. They are evil people who want you to be
their partners in crime--
8. They are evil people who turn from
God's ways 9.
They are evil people who want to walk down dark and evil paths.
10. They are evil people who exult in
doing wrong. 11.
They are evil people who thoroughly enjoy their sins.
12. They are
evil people who do everything that is crooked and wrong.
Observations/Interpretations:
I asked myelf what response does the Bible
want us to take regarding anarchists?
1. First and foremost, not to do the 12
things anarchists want us to do.
2. We are asked to stay far from men like
that.
Observations:
I asked myself what are the
consequences of being an anarchist?
1. Anarchists
trap themselves.
2. Anarchists
lay a booby trap for
their own lives.
3. Those who
live by violence and
murder trap themselves.
4. Anarchists
will die a violent
death.
5. Anarchists
must eat the bitter
fruit of having their own way.
6. Anarchists
must experience the
full terrors of the pathway they have chosen.
7. Complacency
will kill anarchists.
Observations:
I asked myself why do these things
happen to the anarchists?
1. Anarchists have
closed their eyes to
the facts.
2. Anarchists have
chosen not to reverence
the Lord.
3. Anarchists have
chosen not to trust the
Lord.
4. Anarchists have
turned their back on
the Lord.
5. Anarchists have spurned the Lord's
advice.
6. Anarchists have
turned to death.
Observations:
I asked myself what happens to those
who follow the Lord?
1. But all who
listen to the Lord will live in peace.
2. But all who listen to the Lord will not be
afraid. 3. But all
who listen to the Lord will be given the sense to stay away from
evil men who want them to be their partners in crime.
Interpretation:
I asked myself how can a violent death
occur?
It could occur where there is looting and
where there is shooting.
Interpretation:
I asked myself what does looting mean?
Stealing goods from a place, typically during
a war or riot.
Intrepretation:
I asked myself what does shooting
mean?
To me based on different defintions, shooting
means 1. 'the
action or practice of shooting with a gun',
2. 'the action of
filming or photographing a scene, film, etc.
3. Moving suddenly and rapidly in a
particular direction.
4. Directing a glance, question, remark at
someone. 5. Of a
pain move with a sharp stabbing sensation.
6. Casting, flinging, heaving, hurling,
slinging, thrusting, and tossing.
Interpretation:
I asked myself how could anarchists
die a violent death?
In those days, they did not have guns for a
violent death, so it probably occurred with shooting of stones
or arrows. We learn a lot about using shooting stones for violent
death in the Old Testament and New Testament.
Implications:
From Scripture, I learned that I cannot do
the 12 things that anarchists do but need to follow the ways of the
Lord which will also help avoid devastating consequences. One of the
consequences will be shooting. It could be shooting of killing
bullets, rubber bullets, pepper balls, tear gas, etc. So, in
essence, when the looting starts, the shooting starts or where there
is looting, there is shooting. In those days, shooting happened with
stones or arrows. David killed Goliath by shooting a stone. In these
days, shooting can maim or kill with guns as a result of looting and
riots. I need to be aware of that. It could be carried out by the
police or other people who want to protect their property. For me
this passage above is a warning from the Lord that when there is
looting, there will be shooting. It is not an encouragement for
shooting but an exhortation to avoid looting.
I have to stay
far away from anarchists who love to loot and kill since crime of
murder and rioting is their speciality. When I protest for any cause
and am joined by anarchists, my message is lost. The focus moves on
to what the anarchists are doing with rioting and looting.
Sadly, people don't
listen to the authorities so many times. There was shooting in my
life too because of the looting of others but also because I did not
listen to the police.
As a journalist, I wanted to cover the riots
and the looting of the G-20 summit, so I did not care to disperse
when the police gave the warning that there will be shooting if
there is looting. So a lot of anarchists paid the consequence
of being terribly tear gassed. Not only that, journalists including
me were tear gassed when the shooting of tear gas filled the air to
stop the looting, etc.
Recently, when I read or heard about 'when the
looting starts, the shooting starts; where their is looting, there
is shooting', I was not disturbed because it made sense to me. Yet,
I was troubled to hear all the negativity in the media from other
journalists about this. Just because it made sense, I did not want
to believe it, so I prayed to the Lord about this situation whether
I was right or wrong to believe it.
Amazingly, the Lord took me to Proverbs 1 & 2
and Romans 13:1-5. I realized it was biblical for me to stand on
'when the looting starts, the shooting starts' or 'where there is
looting, there is shooting' not because a politician or police chief
decided to say it but because there are consequences for our
actions. I need to follow the ways of the Lord and not the ways of
the world. Unfortunately, during the anarchy and riots, we have seen
looters die at the hand of shooters as a consequence because they
were trying to protect their property. We have also seen bystanders
get injured because of violence as a result of sin. Only if everyone
followed the Lord, then we all could live in safety without being
afraid. Help us Lord Jesus!
I ask you now dear friend, why believe when
the looting starts, the shooting starts creating violence in life?
Dear friend, 'where there is looting, there
is shooting' because looting is a crime and the consequences of that
crime could be shooting. The shooting of bullets can kill and maim
but the shooting of tear gas, pepper balls, etc can injure too.
Regardless, the key thing is violence will be perpetuated. It
happened in King David's time, King Solomon's time, and it will
happen now too. It won't change because God's Word does not change
and stands the test of time. My role as a journalist is not to
separate my journalism from my faith in God's Word which is my
instruction manual. As the children's song goes, 'B.I.B.L.E, that's
the book for me, I stand on the Word of God, B.I.B.L.E'. It could
also mean 'Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth' as a song goes
or as I like to say, 'Breathe In Bible, Live Eternally'. So let us
heed the Bible to what is happening now too!
This is what the
Bible says about anarchists:
1. Young toughs will tell others, "Come and
join us." 2. Young
toughs will tell others, "We'll hide and rob [loot] and kill.
3. Young toughs will
tell others, "Good or bad, we'll treat them all alike."
4. Young toughs will tell others, "And the
loot we'll get! All kinds of stuff!"
5. Young toughs will tell others, "Come on,
throw in your lot with us"
6. Young toughs will tell others, "We'll
split with you in equal shares."
7. They are evil people who want you to be
their partners in crime--
8. They are evil people who turn from
God's ways 9.
They are evil people who want to walk down dark and evil paths.
10. They are evil people who exult in
doing wrong. 11.
They are evil people who thoroughly enjoy their sins.
12. They are evil people who do everything
that is crooked and wrong.
The response we need
to take regarding anarchists, when we want to peacefully protest is
first and foremost not to do the 12 things above and stay far from
evil people like that.
The Bible reminds us if
we join anarchists that
1. Anarchists
trap themselves.
2. Anarchists
lay a booby trap for
their own lives.
3. Those who
live by violence and
murder trap themselves.
4. Anarchists
will die a violent
death.
5. Anarchists
must eat the bitter
fruit of having their own way.
6. Anarchists
must experience the
full terrors of the pathway they have chosen.
7. Complacency
will kill anarchists.
The Bible tells us why the 7 things happen to
anarchists:
1. Anarchists have
closed their eyes to
the facts.
2. Anarchists have
chosen not to reverence
the Lord.
3. Anarchists have
chosen not to trust the
Lord.
4. Anarchists have
turned their back on
the Lord. 5. Anarchists have
spurned the Lord's advice.
6. Anarchists have
turned to death.
The Bible also
reminds us what happens when we all follow the Lord:
1. But all who
listen to the Lord will live in peace.
2. But all who listen to the Lord will not be
afraid. 3. But all
who listen to the Lord will be given the sense to stay away from
evil men who want them to be their partners in crime.
So, friend if you are joining any protests for
a good cause, stay away from looters and rioters because the
shooting violence is a result of the looting violence perpetuated.
The message of the protest will be lost in that rioting and looting.
If a warning is given, abide by it because the police are there to
enforce.
“For the policeman does not frighten
people who are doing right; but those doing evil will always fear
him. So if you don't want to be afraid, keep the laws and you will
get along well. The policeman is sent by God to help you. But if you
are doing something wrong, of course you should be afraid, for he
will have you punished. He is sent by God for that very purpose.
Obey the laws, then for two reasons: first, to keep from being
punished, and second, just because you know you should. Obey the
government, for God is the one who has put it there. There is no
government anywhere that God has not placed in power. So those who
refuse to obey the laws of the land are refusing to obey God, and
punishment will follow. (Romans 13:3-5, 1-2, TLB)
May you live for the Lord and follow His ways
when you protest injustice of all kinds staying away from
anarchists! For light and darkness, do not have anything in common.
Peaceful protestors exist to shine the light on darkness. Anarchists
exist to perpetuate darkness instead of light.
"Violence Is Ominous, Leveling Everyday Now
Casualities Everywhere! (V.I.O.L.E.N.C.E)/"Why believe when the
looting starts, the shooting starts, creating violence in life?"
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank you so much for your Word.
Thank you for the power of your Word. Help us Oh Lord to read your
Word daily and apply it in our lives. Let us be influenced by you
and not by the world we live in when it goes against your Word.
Thank you so much Jesus for teaching me about the dangers of
anarchy, gang life, etc. We need you Oh Lord. Help us to stay far
from anarchists even as we protest things that matter to you Oh
Lord. Give us wisdom and the love to follow through your ways
shining out as beacons of light in a dark world as we take you as
our Light of the World. Thank you Jesus when we follow you, we won't
be stumbling through the darkness, but living light will flood our
path. We need you Oh Lord. Thank you for being there for us. Help us
and forgive our sins that we may follow you faithfully and be an
example in word and deed to those around us. Thank you Jesus. In
Your Name I Pray Jesus! Amen!
May the Lord Jesus guide you in
His love leading you! Amen!
No matter what you feel in your heart,
know that Jesus has come in and resides with you! You are not alone! To
make your walk strong with the Lord, spend time in prayer talking to Him
as you would to a friend. You don’t need special words to talk to the
Lord. Spend time in His Word reading Psalms and turning them into
prayer. Next allow God to heal you and speak to you through the Gospel
of John or Gospel of
Mark before moving on to other Books of the Bible! Slowly, let the Lord
show you to which Scriptures He wants you to go to next. It is also important to be part of a body of believers to
help you grow in the faith. Find a Bible believing church that preaches
the Word of God from Genesis to Revelation proclaiming Jesus Christ our
crucified and risen Lord who brings us hope, healing, and help by His
grace alone!
