Editors note: What follows is based on my devotional times with the Lord from the Book of Philippians. It has been made into a book from which I am sharing with you. I hope you enjoy it and may the Lord bless  you through this season of Lent!

Hi everyone :)

DAY 14 of 40:

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.” (Philippians 2:3-4)  I learned simple but powerful principles this morning in my devotional time.  Observations:  Two things I should not do: Do nothing out of selfish ambition. Do nothing out of vain conceit Two things I should do: In humility consider others better than myself. Not only look to my own interests but also to the interests of others. What I learned is so straight forward that knowing it is half-the battle. The other half is putting the principles to practice. I know as I seek the Lord daily, He will help make it possible that I will be following these commandments. I ask you now dear friend, how do you respond to a command? Dear friends, I learned through experience that responding negatively to a command that we know is right and acting against it, only hurts us in the long run. I do not know what kind of commands you face in your life. But this I know, the commands the Lord has given us are for our own good and we can be confident in following them. It will not be always easy but with the Spirit of the Lord working in us we can abide by the commands of the Lord. Yes, they will know we are Christians by our love, by our love as we follow the Lord and allowing His commandments to make us new daily eventually saving us! May you find the strength from the Lord to be obedient to His commands! Commands Of Messiah Make All New Daily Saving! (C.O.M.M.A.N.D.S)/"How do you respond to a command?"  Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for your Word. I thank you for the power of your Word to teach us and exhort us. You tell us to do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. But, instead you want to be humble thinking about others better than ourselves. You also want us to look to the interests of others too rather than be self-focused. Lord, it is easier said than done so we need your help. Please help us Lord and let us not rationalize when we want to do things our own way when you have given us commands to follow. Help us to be your servants and fill us please with your Holy Spirit. Thank you Jesus for the power of your love! I love you Jesus. Thank you for loving us so much and for being there to forgive us and set us free. Thank you Lord for not being silent but available for us! We turn our lives over to you and thank you for hearing our prayers and answering us! In Your Name I Pray Jesus! Amen!
