PLOT REVIEW:
‘Illegal Aliens’ is about three beautiful aliens Lucy (played by the
late Anna Nicole Smith), Cameron (played by Lenise Soren),
and Drew (played by Gladys Jimenez) who decide to enter earth’s
atmosphere to enjoy life until earth is threatened by another illegal
alien Rex (played by Joanie Laurer). Now with the help of a
computer generated guide Syntax (played by Kevin McGuire) and
community of Earth‘s special forces they defeat Rex and save the earth.
CONTENT REVIEW:
“Illegal Aliens’ has some crude sexual humor which really has nothing to
do with the movie but appears there for shock value purposes! Then
again, we should not be surprised because the late actress Anna Nicole
Smith acted in it. Minus the sexual innuendo and a brief nudity scene at
eight minutes and thirty eight seconds into the movie, the movie makes
you want to watch what these three illegal aliens try to do to save
humanity. Also, there was a religiously offensive moment for which there
was no need for. Overall, once you watch the movie, it is not worth
watching again. This movie addresses issues such as good, evil,
possession, sin, destruction, community, teamwork, and good triumphing
over evil.
RECOMMENDATION:
The movie receives a 7 out of 10 rating!
SPIRITUAL CONNECTIONS - SPOILER ALERT:
SPOILER ALERT I:
In one scene when Lucy dresses provocatively, Cameron lets her know that
is not the proper way to dress! When asked why by Lucy, she is told that
they do not need the undue attention drawn to them as aliens living on a
strange planet. She wants them to be able to fit in.
This reminded me of how we all are aliens on this
planet earth if we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ because our
citizenship is in heaven. As aliens living on this strange planet, we
should not behave in such a way that undue negative attention is drawn
because of our negative actions. If that happens we become disloyal to
our King of Kings and bring a bad name to our citizenship of Heaven. We
need to live in such a way that the Lord is honored and glorified.
“Once you were not a people, but now you are
the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have
received mercy. Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the
world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul. Live
such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing
wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits
us.” (1 Peter 2:10-12, NIV)
“Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become
blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and
depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as
you hold out the word of life—in order that I may boast on the day of
Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing.” (Philippians 2:14-16,
NIV)
SPOILER ALERT II:
When there was a major crash and a guy lives no matter how many times he
was also shot, he gives praise and honor to big JC as he looked to the
heavens. He is so thankful to God that he tells JC from now on ‘I will
live for you’. While he was praising the Lord and thankful for his life,
Rex is so made with his praises that she shoots him multiple times in
the stomach. He still lives but goes back to his criminal ways.
It was refreshing to see a scene in the movie
where Jesus Christ is given thanks and credit for the life that the man
had. This reminded me of three Scriptures dealing with thanks, life, and
man’s actions.
“Be joyful always; pray continually; give
thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ
Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, NIV)
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that
they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10, NIV)
“Now while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, many people saw
the miraculous signs he was doing and believed in his name. But Jesus
would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all men. He did not need
man's testimony about man, for he knew what was in a man.” (John
2:23-25, NIV)
SPOILER ALERT III:
In the movie, one of the aliens loves to dress seductively and do things
with her body which really has nothing to do with the plot of the movie
but for shock value. In another scene during the credits of the movie,
we see two women kissing each other (gross).
This reminded me of how earthlings do things when
left to their own desires instead of looking to the One who can give
them the right desires.
“They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and
worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is
forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful
lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones.
In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and
were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts
with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their
perversion.” (Romans 1:25-27, NIV)
“When Christ, who is your life, appears, then
you also will appear with him in glory. Put to death, therefore,
whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity,
lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the
wrath of God is coming.” (Colossians 3:4-6, NIV)
“So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not
gratify the desires of the sinful nature. For the sinful nature desires
what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the
sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not
do what you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under
law. The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality,
impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord,
jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and
envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before,
that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. But
the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness,
goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things
there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the
sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the
Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become
conceited, provoking and envying each other.” (Galatians 5:16-26, NIV)
SPOILER ALERT IV:
From the time Rex came to earth, all he was interested in doing was
causing destruction and havoc to suit his own personal ambitions and
needs. Even though Rex was a man he inhabited a women’s body who was the
wife of a bar owner. After being possessed, she killed her husband and
was bent on taking over the earth.
This reminded me of evil spirits and how they can
invade a person’s body and make them do things that are out of their
control. This can happen to any human if they are not careful. This
however does not excuse a human being from facing the consequences with
the excuse, the devil made me do it. The only way to fight the evil
spirits is with the Armor of God.
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his
mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your
stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh
and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the
powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in
the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that
when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and
after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt
of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of
righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness
that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up
the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming
arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of
the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all
occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be
alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.” (Ephesians
6:10-18, NIV)
SPOILER ALERT V:
It is interesting when Rex calls for help to defeat the forces of good,
the answer comes from down below. The devils helpers are those from
below the earth.
This reminds me of Hell and how Satan loves to use his henchman to
finish his dirty work. We cannot fight Satan on our own but we need the
power of the Lord Jesus Christ to work in us and through us to fight
Satan. Even the archangel Michael knew that!
"The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil
among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the
whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell."
(James 3:6, NIV)
“But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil
about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a slanderous accusation
against him, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!" (Jude 1:9, NIV)
“But he continued, "You are from below; I am from above. You are of this
world; I am not of this world. I told you that you would die in your
sins; if you do not believe that I am the one I claim to be, you will
indeed die in your sins." (John 8:23-24, NIV)
“Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee
from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you.” (James 4:7-8b,
NIV)
“You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the
one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” (1 John
4:4, NIV)
SPOILER ALERT VI:
We see three beautiful aliens come to earth and save the earth from the
enemy alien. They were not of this world but stayed in this world to
help out and save the world even in their shortcomings.
This reminded me of what God did for us. The
aliens were not perfect and yet took time to save the world. Our God is
perfect and His method was perfect to save the world. When the alien sin
entered into the world to take humans captive, God sent His only
begotten Son, Jesus Christ into this world to save the world because He
loved the people of the world so much and knew they needed a Savior. Now
whoever believed in what Jesus could do for them would perish but have
Eternal life. This is awesome to know.
The alien sin has invaded people’s bodies and
makes them do things they would not do if they were walking in the
Spirit. Slowly, this sin corrupts the mind, body, and soul. There is
only one antidote to fight this alien and it is the reddest and purest
antidote ever known to man. It is the antidote of the precious cleansing
blood of Jesus Christ which could eliminate the alien sin from human’s
bodies when they give their life to Jesus Christ. Jesus waits to give
the antidote to all who ask of Him. They can get a transfusion of change
where the alien sin will be covered over by the blood of Jesus Christ
giving those who received it a new life in Christ. If they do not
receive the transfusion offered by Christ, they will continue to live
being dominated by the alien sin.
“No one has ever gone into heaven except the
one who came from heaven—the Son of Man. Just as Moses lifted up the
snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone
who believes in him may have eternal life. “For God so loved the world
that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall
not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the
world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever
believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands
condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one
and only Son.” (John 3:13-18, NIV)
“And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them,
saying, "This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me."
In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is
the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.” (Luke
22:19-21, NIV)
“For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God. Keep
watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has
made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought
with his own blood.” (Acts 20:27-28, NIV)
“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins,
in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us with
all wisdom and understanding.” (Ephesians 1:7-8, NIV)
“May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant
brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the
sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he
work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be
glory for ever and ever. Amen.” (Hebrews 13:20-21, NIV)
