he can have the throne to the kingdom but Prince Caspian (played by Ben
Barnes) is rescued by the creatures of Narnia and the kings of old:

Prince Caspian. The story revolves around the battles that take place to
give the kingdom back to Prince Caspian as Aslan intervenes to help.
CONTENT REVIEW:
'Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian' based on the book by C.S.
Lewis is an electrifying Disney movie that can be watched over and over
again with an emphasis on a Christocentric message. It is filled
with a lot of battle scenes and addresses so many issues such as death,
life, betrayal, Good vs. Evil, revenge, miracles, healing, ethnicity,
war, peace, sacrifice, faith, and belief.
BIBLICAL CONNECTIONS: SPOILER
ALERT
'Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian' base don the book by C.S.
Lewis is one recent movie with a Christocentric message.
Spoiler Alert I:
In the beginning of the movie we see that a child is born to king Miraz
and his wife after many years. At that moment, he realizes that his
nephew Prince Caspian is a threat to the throne of the kingdom so he
sends his soldiers to kill his nephew but in the night he escapes aided
by a wise man.
In the same way, this reminded me of when Jesus Christ was born,
Jesus had become a threat to King Herod because King Herod knew from his
wise men that Jesus was going to become the King of Kings based on
prophecy, so King Herod sent his soldiers to kill any baby less than 2
years old but Mary and Joseph escaped with baby Jesus in the night.
"When King Herod heard this he was disturbed,
and all Jerusalem with him. When he had called together all the people's
chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Christ
was to be born. "In Bethlehem in Judea," they replied, "for this is what
the prophet has written: "'But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are
by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a
ruler who will be the shepherd of my people Israel.'" (Matthew 2:3-6,
NIV)
"When
Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious,
and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity
who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had
learned from the Magi." (Matthew 2:16, NIV)
Spoiler Alert II:
When Prince Caspian finds out that his father was murdered by King Miraz,
Caspian goes out for revenge and endangered the entire mission of
rescuing Narnia because of his selfishness and vengeful attitude without
relying on the community he was blessed with for true wisdom.
This reminded me of what the Bible talks about wisdom and revenge.
"Those who trust their own insight are foolish,
but anyone who walks in wisdom is safe." (Proverbs 28:26, NLT)
"Do
not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the
eyes of everybody. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live
at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room
for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will
repay," says the Lord." (Romans 12:17-19, NLT)
Spoiler Alert III:
Lucy sees Aslan and tells the rest of the group with her but they don't
believe her and think she is imagining things even when she really saw
Aslan.
This reminded me of Doubting Thomas in the Bible when the disciples
told him that they had seen the resurrected Christ, he did not believe.
It also reminded me of the time when Jesus compared faith to little
children.
"Then he said, “I tell you the truth,
unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will
never get into the Kingdom of Heaven." (Matthew 18:3, NLT)
"Then
Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed
are those who have not seen and yet have believed." (John 20:29, NIV)
Spoiler Alert IV:
Aslan is a lion in the movie and is supposed to be a typology of Christ.
When Aslan comes everyone bows down before him.
Jesus is referred to as the Lion of Judah in many verses.
"But
one of the twenty-four elders said to me, “Stop weeping! Look, the Lion
of the tribe of Judah, the heir to David’s throne, has won the victory.
He is worthy to open the scroll and its seven seals.” (Revelations 5:5,
NLT)
Spoiler Alert V:
Narnian's went to war without asking for the help of Aslan who defeated
the White Witch last time. The Narnian's felt like they did not have the
time to wait on Aslan's help and suffered many causalities in the war
against the enemy.
In the same way, it reminded me of the times we do not wait on the
Lord Jesus for guidance and help. We want to do things our own way and
then suffer the consequences for our actions when we could have gone to
the One who could defeat our enemies from the beginning. Even the
Israelites were slaughtered when they went to war without Jehovah's
leading.
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean
not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he
will make your paths straight." (Proverbs 3:5-6, NIV)
"I can do everything through him who gives me
strength." (Philippians 4:13, NIV)
Spoiler Alert VI:
The Narnian's are faced with insurmountable odds when it comes to the
army of King Miraz but they decide to fight anyway depending on the help
that would eventually come from Aslan.
This reminded me of the time the Israelites were forced to fight with
Gideon and his army. There army was nothing compared to the army of the
Midianites but the Lord wanted Gideon to depend on Him and not the
circumstances at hand.
"The LORD said to Gideon, "With the three
hundred men that lapped I will save you and give the Midianites into
your hands. Let all the other men go, each to his own place." So Gideon
sent the rest of the Israelites to their tents but kept the three
hundred, who took over the provisions and trumpets of the others. Now
the camp of Midian lay below him in the valley." (Judges 7:7-8, NIV)
Spoiler Alert VII:
Aslan meets the rat that lost his tail but Aslan restores the tail with
a miracle.
This reminds me of the times Jesus miraculously restored those that
were lame and did other miracles.
Jesus told them, “Go back to John and tell
him what you have heard and seen—the blind see, the lame
walk, the lepers are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised to life,
and the Good News is being preached to the poor.
And tell him, ‘God blesses those who do not turn away because of
me.’” (Matthew 11:4-6, NLT)
