The University of Pittsburgh had it's 2010
Commencement Convocation on the afternoon of Sun, May 02 at the
Petersen Events Center in Oakland. The commencement lasted almost 3
hrs from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. to celebrate the accomplishments of
the graduates who comprised of 17 different colleges at Pitt. Each
college had it's own distinctive colors for the students to wear.
Greetings and remarks were given by
Chancellor Mark Nordernberg followed by the keynote address from
famed Pitt alumnus John A. Swanson whose name is seen by every
engineering student that studies at what used to be called Benedum
Hall. Now it is the Swanson School of Engineering building.
The student response was given by Lance
Bonner, a former Student Government Board member.
