SCRIPTURE:
Jesus said, "I am the
Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down his life for the sheep."
(John 10:11)
Jesus is the Good
Shepherd. We become the sheep of His pasture when we become part of
his flock. Jesus laid down his life for each one of us.
Won't you allow
the Lord Jesus to lead you?
You can try to go
on in the adventure of life without the Lord Jesus but you will face
more wolves that can tear you apart in the long run. This is not a
scare tactic to make you come to the Shepherd. This is true and I
speak from experience. If it for not for the Lord, I would not be
here.
A personal
relationship with Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd is not a crutch.
Yeah, I lean on Jesus a lot because He has the Answer to lives
questions. I have no regrets. He is my Good Shepherd and I would be
unwise as a sheep to lean on my own understanding. It is not a
crutch as Karl Marx etc make it sound like.
As humans this
does not mean we just assassinate reason. The Good Shepherd will
lead us in every area including academia.
I have studied
(majored in) the disciplines of Psychology 3.12, Administration of
Justice 3.85, Legal Studies 4.0 and (minored in) Math 3.0, &
Computer Science 3.0, and Business with a 3.85.
I give you my
Q.P.A's in my majors and minors to let you know that those who take
academics seriously can have a belief in Jesus Christ, the Absolute
Truth.
I have gotten low
grades too and I have to live with that.
Currently, I am
studying constitutional law and hoping to go into journalism one day
if the Lord leads me in that direction. Problem with all this
studying is that it drains my money and have to payback loans, etc.
Yuck! Currently, I feel called into the ministry.
I am telling you
all this not to boast about my academic credentials. I am telling
you this as my testimony. Believing in Jesus is not intellectual
suicide. I am very inquisitive and intellectual.
I do not work in
my field of concentration except for the Pitt News because I am
called by God into the ministry at this time. This is the reason why
I have chosen to work in the cafeteria that gives me a flexible
schedule.
Some think I am
throwing my life away because I have experience in different fields
but chose to work in the cafeteria. I don't see it that way but as
tent making so I can reach out to others with the love of Christ,
having a flexible schedule.
I have given up a
full-time job so I would have time for the ministry. Cafeteria
closes in the summer and I need a job, so please keep me in your
prayer. As of May 01, I will be jobless if I don't find one soon.
I am currently
staffing the IVCF chapter at Pitt. I need to raise financial support
in ministry so I can make a living. Please pray for me that God
would send the funding in. Once my support level comes through, I
can put more and more time in the ministry w/o having to worry about
other jobs.
I do not claim to
understand everything because I do not. From what I do know my
intellectual search makes Jesus being the Absolute Truth more and
more valid.
I do have faith
in Jesus as not every intellectual question of mine has answers in
this realm.
"Faith is the
substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen."
(Hebrews 11:1)
Life can throw at
us things that I call wolves. On our own we can be vulnerable and
get lost or figuratively be eaten up. Jesus knew that and that is
why He came.
Sheep without a
Shepherd can always be in danger of getting lost. Sheep do not
really have direction unless they listen to the voice of the
Shepherd. It is when they listen to the voice of the Shepherd that
they stay on the right path.
As they continue
to hear the voice of the Shepherd, they become familiar with His
voice and come to know the Shepherd better.
Jesus knew we are
lost sheep and in need of a Good Shepherd. The role of a Shepherd is
to take care of His sheep. The key phrase is 'His sheep'. Jesus came
to be your Good Shepherd. You belong to Him and He will not let
anyone snatch you away from Him.
He even went to
the point of dying for you so that you could be delivered from the
wolves of sin. When the wolf of sin was pouncing on you and
overpowering you, Jesus intervened. He decided to take your place
and put upon Himself your sin. He became your sacrifice,
shedding His precious cleansing Blood that you His sheep may
live. He who had no
sin became sin for us that we might be made righteous.
He came back to
life later and became the Good Shepherd forever, to those who decide
to become His sheep. You need not be a wandering sheep anymore
without any direction. Allow the Good Shepherd to guide you by His
rod and staff. Come, come to Him!
He speaks to us
even now through His Word, through His Spirit, through His church,
and even through circumstances. Test everything with the Word of God
though. He would never tell you to do something that is
contradictory to His Word. This way you can know if it is from the
Lord or from the enemy.
May you realize
that you are lost without the Shepherd. May you come to know Jesus
as your Good Shepherd who wants to be your Lord and Personal Savior.
He alone can save you. It is not being arrogant to say that Jesus is
the Absolute Truth if evidence backs it up which it does.
Seek the Lord and
you will find Him when you search for Him with your whole heart.
Oh yes, you will find Him!
Don't let another
day go by, being a wandering sheep. You may not have all the answers
you are looking for. But, if you wait until you get all the answers
to become a follower of Christ, that time may never come.
What I have found
is that when I allow the Good Shepherd to lead me, He provides the
answers in His due time. The Holy Spirit will lead you. May you come
to know Him! Amen!
Prayer:
Jesus thank you so
much that you are my Good Shepherd. I cannot fathom your love and I
am so amazed at what you have done for me. You became my Good
Shepherd to lead me and guide me. You came to protect me from the
wolves of sin that want to pounce and destroy me. I do not know
everything I want to know about you. But form what I know, I know
you love me and care for me so much. You died for my sin to set me
free. You want to give me direction. I ask you to heal me and make
me righteous. Deliver me from the wolf of sin that attacks me. Thank
you, You can set me free.
As I hear your voice daily and follow you, I will always be
on the right path. Even when I go on the wrong path, you wait for me
and I can come back to you when I seek you. You never leave me or
abandon me. Thank you so much Jesus. I realize that there is a cost
to following you. I have to give up my own desires of wandering and
doing my own thing.
Please forgive me and
come be my Good Shepherd. Lead me in the path of Eternal
Life. Thank you so much Jesus.
Thank you Jesus for being part of my life. I acknowledge you as my
Lord and Personal Savior! Thank you Jesus, we can be guided by you.
This is so cool. Thank you for hearing me and answering me. In Your
Name I Pray Jesus! Amen!
If you want to give your life
to the Lord and make Him Lord of your life, please don't wait. You
can ask Him into your life right now. A Christians' road in life is
not easy nor peachy but it is worth it. Belonging to the One who
created you and loves you with unconditional love is the one you
need to belong too. No matter what you have done or where you have
been, the Lord reaches out to you with His loving arms of love. If
you have been a Christian and feel like you have gone away from the
Lord, you can come
back to Him and rededicate your life to Him. He will take
you in and love you with unconditional love. Do not let guilt stop
you from coming to the Lord. He loves you so much and cares for you!
Come, Come to the Lord!
Prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus, I do
not know everything I need to know about you. But, I heard that you
love me so much and you are the Light. You said if I come to you, I
will not stay in darkness. I come to you Lord as I am with all my
baggage. I ask you to take it all from me and give me a new
beginning.
I know all the sins in
my life have affected me and I need you now. I am willing to give my
life to you and ask you for forgiveness. Please forgive me of my
sins and come into my heart. Please make my heart your home. Live in
me Jesus and I choose to live for you and serve you the rest of the
days of my life. There are certain habitual sins in my life that you
alone can help me overcome and I rely upon you. Thank you Jesus. I
thank you that you want to be my Lord and Personal Savior. Please be
in control of my life. I thank you when you forgive me, you give me
a new clean slate and I can have a new beginning.
I confess you as my
Lord and Personal
Savior and believe in my heart
that you died for me and rose again to give me eternal life that I
can one day spend eternity with you forever. Thank you Jesus! Thank
you, you have heard my prayer and answered me. I belong to you and
you will take care of me. Thank you Jesus! In Your Name I Pray
Jesus! Amen!
You may have felt something, you may
have not, but the important thing to know is that Jesus Christ is in
your life! Don't just go by feelings.
If you have prayed this prayer and meant
it genuinely in your heart, you made one of the most important
decisions in your life. Please let me know as I would like to send
you a free booklet or give it to you in person, to help you in your
daily walk with the Lord. I have read this booklet more than 20
times.
