PART II:
Looking back this week, I am glad my laptop was stolen because it was a wake up call to me even though I wish I had my laptop

Because I felt I was liked by so many people, I did not worry about myself or my belongings. In a way, I became proud and did not want to do things that will make people like me less! So, I stopped addressing issues in the Pittsburgh Standard from a biblical perspective like I used to do there and in the Pitt News.

I let pride creep in but pride and serving the Lord Jesus have no place together. Pride will only ride the id and into Satan’s hand bid. This is what happened to me.

“Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall.” (Proverbs 16:18, NLT)

“Human pride will be brought down, and human arrogance will be humbled. Only the Lord will be exalted on that day of judgment.” (Isaiah 2:11, NLT)

“As the Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud but favors the humble.” So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. Let there be tears for what you have done. Let there be sorrow and deep grief. Let there be sadness instead of laughter, and gloom instead of joy. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.” (James 4:6a-10, NLT)

This is what I had to do because I had no peace and did not feel close to the Lord. Doubt and guilt was ruling me until I humbled myself before the Lord and realized that I was not put on Pitt campus to be liked by people but as a vessel to ‘Live the Word, and Proclaim the Word’. This happened after reading a book on the third night.

When my laptop was stolen in the place I felt the Lord Jesus wanted me to be at, I did not want to have anything to do with campus anymore. I did not seek counsel from anyone even members of my church or small group. I did not even let them know when I usually let them pray for things happening in my life. The Lord Jesus in His mercy and grace once again used my mom to minister to me especially when I was told to read ‘The Thomas Factor’: The key to believing when you cannot find an answer’ by Winkie Pratney.

On a Wednesday evening of Nov 28th, I read this book almost straight through in five hours trying to digest all that was in it. Scriptures in it and the message of the book really ministered to me and I surrendered my life to Jesus again. Sometimes we surrender to the Lord and then want to go our own way. I have been guilty of that so many times and need the Lord’s help not to do that. I then went to visit my dad in the hospital.
