& Demons" to anyone who wants to explore the tension between
faith and science.
PLOT SYNOPSIS: "Angels
& Demons' revolves around the tension between faith and science,
taking us into the world of the Vatican & the Illuminati, as Professor
Robert Langdon (played by Tom Hanks) and Vittoria Vetra (played by the beautiful Ayelet Zurer) are called to
rescue four kidnapped Cardinals and find the terrorist before Vatican
City is blown up with all Cardinals from around the world.
PLOT REVIEW:
"Angels & Demons" is an action-packed thriller that
challenges viewers on the role of science and faith, questioning if they
can ever exist together without conflict. It takes us into the
spellbinding world of the Catholic Church and the Illuminati, who were
the recipients of the Catholic Churches persecution in the Dark Ages. It
is a very well written script that tries to bring science and faith
together, revealing the flaws of human nature, through the action-packed
riddled adventure. If you are into riddles, science, and faith, then
this movie is definitely for you.

WHAT I LOVED ABOUT THE MOVIE: (SPOILER ALERT)
Spoiler Alert I:
I liked it when a priest asked Dr. Langdon, "Do
you believe in God?" and Dr. Langdon answered, "Faith is a gift"
I loved that answer because Dr. Langdon was
basically saying that he cannot believe in God unless God gives Him the
gift of faith to believe in Him. The onus is placed upon God! Faith is
not something we achieve on our own unless it is given to us by God. We
start to have faith because we see God's work in our lives in different
ways and then believe in God. Oh how true that is! God reveals Himself
to the world through the Incarnation in Jesus Christ.
"It is Jesus' name and the faith that comes
through him that has given this complete healing to him, as you can all
see." (Acts 3:16b, NIV)
"Consequently, faith comes from hearing the
message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ." (Romans
10:17, NIV)
"For by the grace given me I say to every one of
you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather
think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of
faith God has given you." (Romans 12:3, NIV)
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through
faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works,
so that no one can boast." (Ephesians 2:8, NIV)
Spoiler Alert II:
I liked it when a Cardinal told Dr. Langdon that
man is not God and man is flawed.
Oh how true that is and that's why Jesus Christ
had to come to restore man's relationship with God.
"As
it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one
who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have
together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.""Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit." "The poison of vipers is on their lips.""Their
mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.""Their feet are
swift to shed blood; ruin and misery mark their ways, and the
way of peace they do not know.""There is no fear of God
before their eyes." (Romans 3:10-18, NIV)
"Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and
knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond
tracing out! "Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his
counselor?""Who has ever given to God, that God should repay
him?"For from him and through him and to him are all things.
To him be the glory forever! Amen." (Romans 11:33-36, NIV)
"For God was pleased to have all his fullness
dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things,
whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his
blood, shed on the cross.Once you were alienated from God
and were enemies in your minds because of your evil
behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body
through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free
from accusation— if you continue in your faith, established and firm,
not moved from the hope held out in the gospel." (Colossians 1:19-23a,
NIV)
