On a Saturday morning of Oct 17, 2009 when
more than thousand volunteers gathered at the University of
Pittsburgh for the Pitt Make A Difference Day (PMADD), Jason &
Andrea, campus ministers with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship,
working primarily with Asian-American students, decided to make a
difference of their own at Carnegie Mellon University's Danforth
Lounge.
While Pitt students were cleaning up
Oakland and taking care of the physical needs of the needy, Jason &
Andrea trained students from Asian Christian Fellowship and members
of Pittsburgh Chinese Church-Oakland's International Fellowship on
how to meet the spiritual needs of those they come in contact with.
Oakland International Fellowship
is located at 134 North Dithridge Street, Oakland on Fifth Ave
The training specifically focused on a type
of evangelism called conversational evangelism. For more than 3
hours with teaching, role-playing, and simulations of conversational
evangelism among the trainees, they used their time to make a
difference.
