"Movingly 'Mere Christianity' Compels
Loving Lord!" (Oct 28, 09, 2:24
p.m.)
Some books never seem to go out of style;
they resound with audiences through the generations. First published as a book
in 1952, C. S. Lewis’ Mere Christianity is one such work. Lewis writes
not for the English scholar but for the everyday reader, skeptic and Christian
alike. The book starts with a very basic, straightforward explanation about how
there seems to be a “Law of Human Nature” and how it follows that there must be
a force beyond humans....
"Fervently 'Faith Like Potatoes' Farmer's
Vegetables Victoriously Blending Beliefs!"
(Aug 16, 09,
5:16 p.m.)
"Faith Like Potatoes"
is an inspiring
story set in Africa which has the potential to
satisfy or to leave the viewer wanting more, depending on one's
perspective. The writers and producers did a good job treating the
integration of Agnus and his family into African society. If anything, I
wanted to read more about the life of Angus Buchan after watching
it. Watch this true story unfold to witness the benefits and
challenges of blind faith and how a strong-willed man develops
character --rooted not just in time spent in the fields, but in a
living Gospel that.......
"Greatly G.I. Joe's Justice Collapses COBRA!"
(Aug 10, 09, 6:31 p.m.)
"G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra" is an action packed, non-stop edge
of the seat adventure from beginning to end that can be seen over
and over again. It incorporates a love story within a special elite
military operation that makes James Bond's weaponry look like
children's toys.
These
commandos are sent to retrieve a nano-weapon that has fallen into
the hands of a terrorist group known as COBRA.
"Surprisingly Slumdog
Millionaire Makes Eight Expensive Oscars Outright!"
(July 02, 09, 9:18 p.m.) By Kristen Agnew
After winning 8
Oscars, 'Slumdog Millionaire' had rocketed
into national focus. "Slumdog Millionaire" does
more than paint an historic picture of the culture of India-- it
captures beautifully the pervasive themes of survival, romance,
and destiny. Being a devout follower of Christ, I was
immediately struck by the opening line "It is written," and I
wondered what type of
spiritual
direction the movie would take. A formidable cast,
a catchy score and an honest approach to the basic questions that
plague human existence make this story too wonderful...
