“Birthday Imparts Redeemer's Triumphant Hand Daily Answering You!(B.I.R.T.H.D.A.Y)

Ramesh C. Reddy
Publisher

SCRIPTURE:

"You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit them together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! It is amazing to think about. Your workmanship is marvelous—and how well I know it. You were there while I was being formed in utter seclusion! You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe. Every day was recorded in your book!  How precious it is, Lord, to realize that you are thinking about me constantly! I can’t even count how many times a day your thoughts turn toward me. And when I waken in the morning, you are still thinking of me!"(Psalm 139:13-18, TLB)

Question to Ponder/Approach Question:
Who owns the copyright to your birthday, why or why not?

Observations:
I asked myself what does the Psalmist declare to the Lord as he reflects on his life?
1. You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body.
2. You knit them together in my mother's womb.
3. Thank you fo
r making me so wonderfully complex!
4. It is amazing to think about.
5. Your workmanship is marvelous---and how well I know it
6.
You were there while I was being formed in utter seclusion.
7. You saw me before I was born.
8. You scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe.
9. Everyday was recorded in your book!
10. How precious it is, Lord, to realize that you are thinking about me constantly!
11. I can't even count how many times a day your thoughts turn toward me.
12. And when I waken in the morning, you are still thinking of me!

Interpretations:
I asked myself the significance of the Psalmist saying, 'You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body!?'
The Psalmist realized that he is a result of God's intervention and that God is the Author of His life and has sole copyright to him. He does not give anyone else credit for the work of God in His life. There is no plagiarism here. Since God has the copyright to him, he places his confidence in God alone. This means the Psalmist does not believe in macro-evolution being the cause of his existence but God. This is evidenced by points 2-6:

2. YOU KNIT THEM TOGETHER in my mother's womb.
3. Thank YOU fo
r MAKING ME so wonderfully complex!
4. It [YOUR CREATION OF MY BODY] is amazing to think about.
5. YOUR WORKMANSHIP is marvelous---and how well I know it
6.
You were there while I WAS BEING FORMED in utter seclusion.

I asked myself what is the significance of points 2-6?
The Psalmist realizes and acknowledges that it is the Lord's Hand that was present in every aspect of KNITTING, MAKING, WORKMANSHIP, and FORMATION of his body. It did not just end with God knitting all the delicate inner parts of his body but the psalmist was made WONDERFULLY COMPLEX! It is so wonderfully complex that it is AMAZING to even think about it. Being amazed, does not stop the Psalmist's praises because the Psalmist reflects on God's AMAZING WORKMANSHIP in his life. Then, the Psalmist brings it back to KNITTING again but this time uses  a powerful declaration: I WAS BEING FORMED in utter seclusion WHILE YOU WERE THERE. This is so profound because the Psalmist knows that God's Hand and presence existed in the conception of him in his mother's womb but also through the months of development while the Psalmist was being FORMED. Wow! Thank you Jesus!

I asked myself what does the Psalmist reflect on in v.16-18 regarding God's role in his life?
7. You SAW ME before I was born.
8. You SCHEDULED each day of my life before I began to breathe.
9. In your Book, you RECORDED everyday of my life !
10. How precious it is, Lord, to realize that you are THINKING about me constantly!
11. I can't even count how many times a day your THOUGHTS TURN toward me.
12. And when I waken in the morning, you are STILL THINKING of me!

I asked myself the significance of the Psalmist's reflection regarding God's role?
The Psalmist praises the Lord knowing God SAW him before he was born but God did not stop there. Instead, the Psalmist is so happy that God SCHEDULED each day of his life before he even began to breathe. That is amazing to know that the Psalmist left his life in the Lord's Helping Hands. But, the Psalmist does not stop there but is so happy that his life has been RECORDED in God's Book. If God SAW him, SCHEDULED his life, and  RECORDED his life, it feels so precious to the Psalmist that God is THINKING about him constantly.  It does not end there but the Psalmist expresses that it is countless how many times God's THOUGHTS turn towards him. And finally, he acknowledges when he wakens in the morning, God still has not forgotten him but is STILL THINKING about him to show God's Hand and love for him in his life. Thank you Jesus!

Implications:
I asked myself what are the implications for my own life?

The same God who the Psalmist reflected upon and praised is the same God who is there for me. This is a birthday Psalm for me to praise the Lord for all He has done for me from the moment of my conception, to birth, to all these years of my life and what He will continue to do for me. More than that I can proclaim His promises for my life knowing He who created me and loves me, will also be there with me always and care for me. He sees me, has scheduled my life, recorded my life, thinks about me constantly as His thoughts turn always towards me. And, then He continues to still think about me no matter how busy He is. Thank you Jesus so much I am so well cared for. I praise the Lord Jesus that I can celebrate my birthday because He is the One that made me and allowed me to have life in my mother's womb and outside of the womb giving me a birthday each year that He has ordained my life for me. It is awesome to be cared for by the Lord to whom I am so special and His thoughts always turn towards me. I can never measure the thoughts of the Lord towards me for they would outnumber the grains of sand.

It was so awesome last Sunday of Lord's Day on September 29th that Pastor Hugo Cheng was able to give a brief message on Psalm 139 while we celebrated Esther's blessed 1st year birthday with our loved ones at church.

I can celebrate my birthday because the Lord Jesus loves me so much and gave it to me. It is because of the birthday's the Lord Jesus has blessed me with, helping me being born after being developed in my loving mommy's womb, I grew up with His help as  He thinks about me constantly.  Three years ago, I  had the blessing of being married to my most wonderful, darling wife Chandraleela who is so prayerful, loving, understanding, and supportive of my life these past 3 years of marriage. Not only that but the Lord has blessed us with our precious daughter Esther who was born on the Lord's Day of Sunday last year on September 30, 2012.

When we found out that my leela was pregnant with Esther, we prayed Psalm 139:13-18 every single day of Esther's development in her mother's womb and I continued to pray Psalm 139:13-18 every single day of her 12 months of development knowing the power of God's Word and how much Psalm 139:13-18 applied to Esther and each of us. I have prayed Psalm 139 for my own life and Chandra's life reflecting on it. Thank you Jesus for thinking about us constantly. I continue to pray it for my wife, daughter, and myself.

I ask you now dear friend, who cares for your B.I.R.T.H.D.A.Y in life?
Dear friend, Psalm 139 is for you and He who created you  loves you so much and cares for you more than words can say. Before you were born, Jesus knew you and knit you together perfectly in your mother's womb and saw your unformed body. He took care of you in the womb to give you life and scheduled the days of your life in His book which is so exciting to know! You do not have to live alone. Jesus will send people your way to care for you. Yes, He will!

My wife Leela and I have experienced the number of people the Lord Jesus sent our way to show care for us, especially our daughter Esther on her birthday showering her with amazing gifts and their time. She had such a blessed time in the Lord's house in the company of her mommy, grandmother, uncle Rajesh, uncle Rohit,  uncle Ravi, Pastor Hugo, Edwin, Marie, Calvin, Elise, David, Yvonne, Chloe, Chen Xi, Stacy, Sung Wan, David, Jian, Colin, Connie, Pastor Ridge, Pastor Bucknell, Linda Bucknell, Phoebe, Jeanne, Suzanne, Rodney, Andrea, Jason, Karthik, Siddarth, Pooviah, Somreeta, Neha, Ankita, Nisha, Disha, Harini, Preethi, sister Anuradha and brother Daniel, sister Beryl and brother Sudheer. All the aunties and uncles that came for Esther's birthday was very touching including all the children that came :)

But more than that, Jesus cares for your birthday in life. Remember, the Psalmist praises the Lord knowing God SAW him before he was born but God did not stop there. Jesus wants to do the same for you and will do for you!!!

What is precious is the love of Christ towards you and me. So, that you and I can have victorious birthdays each year, Jesus went to the cross to pay the price you could not pay to ransom you from sin's destructive bondage. That is how much Jesus loves you. He loves you so much that He died on that cross shedding His precious blood and came back to life on the third day to save. Jesus cares for your birthday in life. Jesus wants to deliver you. Every moment of your life is important to the Lord so never feel that your life is not significant because for the One who created you, your life is so significant that if you were the only person living, Jesus would have still died for you to give you new life. That is exciting to know so come as you are!

It does not matter what your age is for the God of the Universe created you and has the copyright to your life that will never expire. That means, whether you are O months or 100+ etc, He will love you and reach you because that is the character of God to love. God is love and in Him is life for our being. Yes, friend God loves you so much that He sent His only begotten Son to die for you so that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have Everlasting Life. That is exciting to know.

I know it is exciting for me to know that Psalm 139:13-18 can be read as my birthday Psalm claiming the promises of God knowing His thoughts turn towards you and me. Yes, they do friend!

Today might be your birthday and if you are reading this, take the Word of the Lord to heart so you don't drift away on your own. We studied Hebrews 2:1-4 led by Chloe yesterday where we focused on what we can do not to drift away from the Lord.

If it is not your physical birthday, it can be your born-again birthday. You can come to Jesus as you are no matter what you have done or where you have been. He loves you as you are and paid the price to set you free. In the Lord, alone you can be happy and find your joy in Him. I am amazed to read Psalm 139 and know how much the Lord cares for me and He cares for you too.

If you don't know Jesus as your Lord and Personal Savior, let today be your born-again birthday by giving your life to the Lord so the angels in Heaven can celebrate it with you And if you do know Him as your Lord and Personal Savior, you have started another year of your life with the One who gives life. Yes, friend as you celebrate your birthday or your born-again birthday, turn to the Word of God for your direction and celebration in life. He wants to lead you and me. Yes, He does! That is exciting to know!

Prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus, thank you so much for all you send into our lives to care for us on our birthday. Most of all thank you for creating all the delicate parts of my body and knitting me together in my mother's womb. Thank you that I am so wonderfully and fearfully made. Thank you that your works are wonderfully complex and how well I know it. It is amazing to think about your workmanship in my life. You were there while I was being formed in utter seclusion. You saw me before I was born and scheduled all the days of my life before I began to breathe. How precious are your thoughts towards me Oh Lord. I cannot even count how many times a day your thoughts turn towards me and when I waken in the morning you are still thinking about me.
Thank you for family members and friends. But most of all, I want to thank you for being the Author of my Life, making me, and having total copyrights to me. You have provided me Your Word to direct me and lead me. Even when I mess up, you are there for me Oh Lord. You beautifully redeem me daily as Yeshua. Thank you so much Jesus. I pray for those Oh Lord who are feeling lonely on their birthday that you Oh Lord would shower upon them Your love so that they can be transformed by Your abundant grace. Thank you so much Jesus. Thank you that you hear and answer. Thank you for dying for my sins and coming back to life to save me. Help Oh Lord.  In Your Name I Pray Jesus. Amen!

Lord Jesus, You are my all in all. You are my Prince of Peace, Rock, Savior, and Friend. You are my Holy Father guiding me through to live a life of righteousness, holy righteousness. Oh God, I need you more than ever. I need to feel your hands around me holding me tight. I need your love to surround me so that you can glow in my life. Help me please Jesus. I desire in your presence. Thank you for guiding me to live a life of righteousness. Oh God you love me more than ever. You hear my voice when I cry out to you. When I seek your face, you fill me up. You are my all in all. Thank you Jesus so much for your help no matter what I face, your grace is available and you take my case. Thank you for hearing us and answering us. In Your Name I Pray Jesus! AMEN! (Most of the prayer is from a vineyard song called “All in All”)

No matter what you feel in your heart, know that Jesus has come in and resides with you! You are not alone! To make your walk strong with the Lord, spend time in prayer talking to Him as you would to a friend. You don’t need special words to talk to the Lord. Spend time in His Word reading Psalms and turning them into prayer. Next allow God to heal you and speak to you through the Gospel of John or Gospel of Mark before moving on to other Books of the Bible! Slowly, let the Lord show you to which Scriptures He wants you to go to next. It is also important to be part of a body of believers to help you grow in the faith. Find a Bible believing church that preaches the Word of God from Genesis to Revelation proclaiming Jesus Christ our crucified and risen Lord who brings us hope, healing, and help!

No matter who you are, it is not ever too late to join a Bible-believing church or a college fellowship. I highly encourage each of you to come to Transformers Small Group on Friday nights at 7:00 p.m. and Oakland International Fellowship on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. for prayer, 11:30 a.m. for worship, 10:30 a.m. for Sunday School, and 12:30 p.m. for fellowship lunch.

May the Lord's presence and peace fill you with His love now and forever! Amen!

Friend, if you have prayed this prayer and meant it in your heart, you are a new creation in Christ and all old things are passed away and everything has become new! You may feel something or may not but don’t base it on feelings but base your new life in Christ on the promises of our Savior who will never leave you nor forsake you! Amen!
