Welcome to the Pittsburgh Standard HOTPRESSIONS Editor description. You have just entered the alternative online paper to the Pitt News. Our mission is to write with hope, faith, and love. “We write for you! You decide for us” is what we would like to follow! As an HOTPRESSIONS Editor, you will be responsible for the following things: · Monitor PITT NEWS articles and make sure no rebuttal is missed for most opinions articles published in the Pitt News. · Work with HOTPRESSIONS writers to write rebuttal articles.. · Make sure at least one HOTPRESSION is written each week. · Allow publisher to make final edits to HOTPRESSIONS for online publication. · Have HOTPRESSIONS turned in by deadlines set and be willing to have HOTPRESSIONS added by publisher if necessary! Just so we do not have any misunderstandings, this is an alternative paper to the Pitt News and a paper to glorify Christ on campus. This means the paper will not publish certain things the Pitt News would not mind publishing. It makes no sense duplicating what the Pitt News does. The paper will stick with the mission: “Writing with faith, hope, and love! We write for you! You decide for us!” After reading this if you are still interested in the HOTPRESSIONS Editor position, please let me know! There is an incentive of $100.00 for the most stories written than anyone else of any section in a month for the paper. The other incentives are having your picture published. You will become the HOTPRESSIONS Editor after your first four stories are printed. When people think of the HOTPRESSIONS Editor of the Pittsburgh Standard, I want them to get the sense that their HOTPRESSIONS Editor is the best and gets things done. It makes no sense to have a title but people don't see the accomplishments behind the title! So when you become the editor of a section and it only becomes a title, the publisher can ask you to step down if after a week improvement has not occurred to the section. I hope that does not happen. In that case, the assistant editor will become the editor. Those of you who wanted to be the HOTPRESSIONS Editor will get the opportunity to win $100.00 depending on your writings that are published.
