Editors Note: Brendan Piccora will be picking the winners of 10
college football games each week with a mini analysis! See how you rate
against Piccora's predictions. His weekly score and cumulative score
will be posted here!
This 2nd week's picks
will be on these games:
Pittsburgh @ Cincinnati
(1) Ohio State @ (2) Texas
(19) Penn State @ (4) Notre Dame
Arizona @ (8) LSU
(12) Georgia @ South Carolina
Washington @ (15) Oklahoma
(18) Clemson @ Boston College
(20) Oregon @ Fresno St
(24) Texas Tech @ UTEP
Illinois @ Rutgers
Piccora's Picks
Record for Week 2: 8 - 2
Cummulative Record: 16 -4
Pitt over Cincinnati
It will be a battle of defenses. Cincinnati is coming away from posting
a shutout against Eastern Kentucky and Pitt's D dominated UVA giving up
only 6 true points last week (minus the interception return). Also, Pitt
is 22-9 in the Big East since 2001 and will only improve that record
this season.
Ohio State over Texas
It will be an upset for the home team. Ohio State will win this game
with experience and Texas QB McCoy won’t be able to handle the spotlight
in only his 2nd career start.
Penn St over Notre Dame.
Don’t look for a bounce-back game for ND or a let down game for rolling
PSU. Two words: "Joe Pa."
LSU over Arizona
LSU will blowout Arizona at home.
South Carolina over Georgia
South Carolina will pull off a stunning upset. These two teams no matter
their ranks have a history of close games against each other and GA is
featuring several freshmen on their young defense. South Carolina will
come out on top if they can figure a way to get the ball in the end
zone.
Oklahoma over Washington
Oklahoma will blowout Washington at home.
Boston College over Clemson**
**Only if ACC Co-offensive back of the week Matt Ryan, BC's QB, plays on
a tweaked ankle. He is currently listed at day-to-day but will be the
wild card in who will pull this one out.
Oregon over Fresno St.
I'd say that Oregon is going to win just because Jon Stewart is expected
to play after rushing for 168 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Texas Tech over UTEP
Watch out for TX Tech who I expect to stand at the top of the Big 12 by
the end of the season.
Rutgers over Illinois
Rutgers isn't quite a powerhouse yet, but is a team you might see near
the top with Big East Powerhouses WVU and Louisville. Rutgers will win
with a blowout at home.
